I’m exploring the option of assigning custom fields to staff based on Job Title. However, it looks like none of our staff are getting that data in iiQ.

I checked our Data Mappings, and Job Title is set to pull from Google SSO. Do the titles need to be in a specific format?

I have a custom field mapped with the data, but it would be nice to see it in the main profile section.  I do have a support ticket submitted since staff with multiple titles don’t get recognized properly by that custom field. Single titles are working.

I might be able to pull this from our SIS (Infinite Campus) but I’m hesitant to make the switch. Hopefully our sandbox instance is ready soon 😂

@AMeyer Greendale Schools Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

That seems funky. Can you give me an example user? I will look deeper into this.

Here’s the staff ID for someone that just has one title coming from Google SSO. 719592

Hey @AMeyer Greendale Schools

Taking a look at the custom mapping that you have set up, have you tried routing the Organization title to the ‘Job Title’ field as opposed to the ‘Custom Field’ value? That should funnel that information into the User Profile data.

The Custom Field value for the custom data mapping is primarily used for custom views and in the meta data information in the Google SSO Custom Field Values
section, but this routing change should have this information migrate to the user profile field.

Hopefully, this helps!

@JustinRaynor_iiQ I just switched my mapping from the custom field to iiQ’s Job Title and the sync is stuck on “sync users”.

I had tried leaving the custom field & adding in the iiQ one, and that had failed at the same point. I assumed having dual mappings was the issue but that does not seem to be the case.

Thank you for the feedback. This sync might take a little longer than usual since it is bringing new data into your interface, but I think this change should be what you’re looking for and the configuration looks correct on my end now so we’ll see when the sync finishes.

I’ve seen no progress for 10 minutes (still says 0/5,869), which makes me a bit nervous. Hopefully it does just need a lot of time.

Understandable! But just for reference, the sample user you provided 719592 does have the field populated now so it does look like the information is making its way into the user profiles.

Some of the data made it over, but the sync is showing failed now.

I switched back to the custom field for the time being. Don’t want to risk breaking our overnight sync.
