I am looking for some ideas for custom asset views. Can you post some of your favorites or some you have found most helpful?

Thanks

Do y’all have any favorite asset views that you share with clients?

@DE SysAdmin

If any of your assets have extra information, such as, purchase price or purchase date, these can be helpful to filter as a view.

You can also bring in custom fields from Google Devices, like “Auto Update Expiration,” which you can use to filter as a view. Hope this helps!

HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL!

This time of year, I love creating views that really provide interesting insight for techs as they prepare for device assignment:

  • View that show students who have been assigned multiple devices. Users view (filter = Multiple Devices)
  • View that shows all devices that do not match the location of their assigned owner. Assets view (filter = Asset and Owner Location Mismatch)

    BOTH OF THESE ARE GREAT FOR IDENTIFYING ANOMALIES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, SO YOU CAN SWIFTLY CORRECT DATA SO YOU START THE YEAR ON THE RIGHT FOOT!

Most of my favorite views have already been mentioned, however I do have one to recommend. This is more for end of year collections, but one asset view that district’s have found helpful then are views that utilize grade levels. For instance, if you have seniors that you are collecting devices from, you can run a report after their collection for the following filter:

Grade = 12 (Or whatever grade your SIS integration sends it over as)

Location = SITE] (Optional, but allows for you to get a little more granular with this report)

Pretty simple views to set up, but being able to target individual grades at a location has helped districts prevent students from leaving the district with their device.

Thank you everyone who has commented their asset views! @mfischer @arosenbaum_iiQ @bnelson_iiQ @smcelmurray_iiQ

@DE SysAdmin Have you had success with your asset views so far this school year?
