Questions vs. Discussions

When is a good time to ask a question versus start a discussion/topic within the community? Great question 😉 The question feature should be used when you have a question and are seeking an answer. Maybe you created a ticket template and now you aren’t sure how to implement it. Ask the community! The discussion feature should be used when you want to create a post or share something cool you discovered, like a new workflow for working tickets within your district, the custom fields you are using for your district, or how you are engaging your end users to encourage them to use iiQ. It’s as simple as that.

Idea Exchange Your input is very valuable to us, and that’s why we want you to share your ideas for improving the Incident IQ Platform through the community. Idea Exchange is the best place for you to share your ideas and discuss them with other community members and Incident IQ staff. We review all ideas internally to see if there is a demand or to further investigate them. We will also engage with everyone about their ideas to understand your use cases and needs, to help us decide whether we have the bandwidth to implement an idea. The more votes your idea gets, the more likely it is to be implemented! Not only is it important to collect votes for your own ideas, but also to vote for ideas from other users that you would like to see implemented, ensuring the best ideas emerge. Is there a way to change our display name in iiQ community? As much as I “love” the display name “KHowe 90708b3 rockland”, it would be nice to have something not so “auto generated”. I see some people with relatively normal looking display names so I figured it might be a thing I just have not seen.

Search Results Not Displaying Within Community

If your search results are not displayed within the community, here are a few steps you can take to make sure your results are displayed. Step 1: Your wifi network could be blocking requests. Are you using the school wifi where they have sites blocked? Is your browser showing your site blocked? Try to access the community on a mobile device that is not connected to the same network as your computer. Still unable to search? Try the next step. Step 2: Try to access the community via incognito. Still unable to search? Try the next step. Step 3: Try to open the console and see if there are errors shown? (You can access console by right clicking on the screen and clicking on inspect. Go to the console tab and under the red (X). Do note there might be normal errors as well.) If you are still unable to search within the community please email the community support team at community@incidentiq.com

You may be wondering what all the super cool icons mean that are attached to some of the user profiles. You can accrue these badges and ranks as you start participating in the community. While we are not going to share the secret sauce on the exact way to obtain our ranks and badges, we did want to give you a little insider information on how to start earning them.
