Would like to know how you assign devices to teachers.  In my building I like to assign not only the district provided laptop to the teacher but the other tech devices in the classroom.  They have a monitor, Airtame streaming device, Epson projector and phone in the classroom.  I do this because if they need to create a ticket for lets say the projector it already has them as the owner and makes it quicker to submit a ticket.  One issue someone on our team has brought up is when teachers move classrooms.  This would require us to make those changes or else they possibly could be submitting tickets for devices in the wrong room.  Is there anyway to set a device owner as lets say the room.  Does anyone have something they do that seems to work well.  My concern is that it would take more steps for a teacher to put in a ticket for one of those devices since they aren’t the owner.  Would quick tickets work?  Thank you

@ebloomfield33 Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

There are so many threads to check out about how our users do this! Here are some to look at:

Thank you for the info Kathryn.  I am looking at them and some good info.  I guess specifically I want to know how the process for submitting tickets is affected.  When the teacher is the asset owner it seems quicker as they see it in there dashboard and then can just click it if they have a problem and continue to then submit ticket.  If they are not the owner I believe the process would be longer.  they would need to search for the asset

@ebloomfield33 You cannot add a device to someone’s favorite assets automatically, however if you have MyClasses enabled, the devices in the room will populate on their MyClasses dashboard. Here is an idea to check out:

I’m looking to keep the process of submitting tickets quick for the teacher.  Right now if the teacher is the owner of whatever device they are having an issue with it is pretty quick to get that ticket in as it shows as one of there assets and then they can choose issue and submit. So if I remove them as owner it looks like best workaround would be to create a quick ticket so they would see that in their Dashboard.  I just want to know if anyone has done this or has another way

@ebloomfield33 Creating quick tickets would probably be the best option to keep things simple here and have the teachers be able to submit the ticket for that asset. I have seen districts have success with looking at their commonly submitted issue types for those faculty assets and then creating a few quick tickets for those issues.

You can then filter who those quick tickets will be visible to so they are only able to be submitted by the teacher for that asset.

Here are some of the issues that we have found districts create quick tickets for most often:

Please let me know if that works in your case. Happy to help further if needed!
