I think you could do this via an import? 

1. Assets>Import Assets 

2. Download the CSV template & add the required items:
   1. Asset Tag
   2. Model
   3. Asset Status
   4. Asset type
3. Leave the owner field blank

That should unassign the devices. I’d do a test run with 5-10 to see how it goes first.

That is a great and fast way that @AMeyer Greendale Schools suggested. 

You can also do this with our bulk action “Set Info”.
