Hello, I would like to push the information regarding new models directly into incidentIQ from our Purchase Order lines, and thereby skip the step of requiring my office manager to do the process manually of inputting the new Model information.
Does the API support creating new models like it does creating new Assets?
I spoke with one of our Support Team Leads and it looks like it is not recommended by our development team to import models via API in the case it will lead to bad data. However, the model importer tool will likely be the best method to get models into the system for now. I hope this helps
That’s unfortunate; I am realizing that our prior inventory system was able to “pre-populate” the model input screen with model information gathered from the purchase order, only requiring the Agent to confirm that the information was correct before submitting the new model. It will be a process slowdown for us to shift to transferring the information manually from “spreadsheet to portal”, as it were, rather than being able to rely on the automation to transfer the information and then utilize the portal for validation.
Is there perhaps some functionality like that, whereby we could pre-populate the Create Model screen by API call?
