A student withdrew from the district three months ago and was deactivated through the integration with our SIS. I needed to determine whether the student returned the laptop. The student is no longer in a list of users. I can’t find him using the SIS = inactive filter. We happened to have an external database that is linked to Active Directory, so I was able to look up the serial number and find the device is still assigned to the inactive student in IIQ..

How can I go about running reports or filters to find withdrawn students and whether they still have a device assigned to them solely within IIQ?

Found part of my answer, but can’t add the Asset Number to the export to create a workable file.

Glad you found the best practice article.

When exporting your custom view you are able to add the additional columns for asset tag or serial number to your export. Please see the image below:

I created a new view in Users with these filters.  You have to open each user to view the device, but if you don’t have a lot of peolpe that have left its manageable.

We have 40k students and 7k of staff so with that volume we couldn’t use queries/views from the user side….We had to search from the asset side and set a filter where role = no access to find devices assigned to former students/staff.

I didn’t think of doing it from the asset side. I just created it, adn its’ way better than what I caome up with!  Thanks for sharing.
