Can you provide a screenshot of the required notes field?

I went to reproduce this but did not see the required notes fields on an assets details page. 

This sounds like a custom field was set up by one of the admins and the field was set as “Required”. We made the mistake with a few of our initial custom fields and making them “Required” or “Sensitive”, it was making ticket notifications wonky until we fixed it.

I was thinking the same thing but not seeing that they set up a required custom field. 

@gilesfelton Please let us know if this is still an issue. 

I am experiencing the same issue.  I am trying to edit an Asset but it’s telling me the Notes/Comments section is required.  I checked in custom fields and it appears to be a built-in field rather than a custom field.  I’m not sure how to change it so it’s not required.  Here is a screenshot:

@RCebula 57b733 wwrsd Alright, so I looked into your rules, and I would suggest deleting the “Notes/Comments” from your fields and creating a custom notes field where it is not required. 

Delete this field and then add a new notes field. 

Do not select the required field  Then you can add it to the asset information, and no more required notes box!
