Hello,

I am using the Import Assets feature to update asset information. When I upload the spreadsheet one column is not uploading properly. It is reading it as  M/d/yyyy h:mm rather than the information that is in the column.

I have had this happen several times so I am wondering what I can do to fix this problem. I have changed the format, re-uploaded, created complete new sheets to upload. Sometimes it fixes the problem and other times not.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Janell

@Janell YES! When you go to Assets / Import Assets, there is a template for you to include your information in to import. Here is a screenshot.

I hope this helps! 😄

@Janell What information are you trying to bring into the system and under which column name is it? Could you provide a screenshot?

Hi, it varies on the column. Typically if I reformat the column to Text then it works, but not all the time. I just create a spreadsheet. Do you want me to use a template?

Can you import assests into a Spare Pool?

@NLosito 5874be6 nbufsd You cannot technically import assets into a spare pool, but if you have the assets, you can bulk assign them to a spare pool. Is this what you are looking for? Additionally, I have linked an idea we have open for importing devices directly into the spare pool.

yes.  I am currently doing it this way but if I do more then 30 assets at a time it will not work.  It should be added to the import asset section.  it would help alot probably for many users

@NLosito 5874be6 nbufsd I understand how that would be time-consuming. Please relay all feedback on that idea so the Product team can easily see it! 😄
