We’ve noticed that the IIQ mobile App only seems to show the scan barcode via camera in the check in/out section, and not in the search asset section. This is on iPadOS 15 and Android 13 that I have observed. Is this an issue, or was there a change in the availability of the barcode scanner functionality?

@mmickey We did make some updates to the mobile app, have you updated it yet?

@Kathryn Carter My Google Play store shows it is updated, and the app shows as version 3.8.6 on my phone, and on my iPad it shows as up to date with version 3.8.4

@mmickey Alright I did some digging. On the iPads, the search tool (to search assets) is in the top corner. This will allow you to scan or speak into the search. If you just hit the search bar in Asset Explorer, it will not give you this option.

If you are also given the same on the android device, use that search bar (I do not have access to an android to check it right now) I hope this helps 😄

@Kathryn Carter when I go there on my iPad, this is what I see. I see similar on my Android:

But if I go to Check in/Out, I get the barcode scan option:

@mmickey Will you go ahead and submit a support ticket for this? I am unable to replicate it on my end and they will be able to give you more specific guidance on how to fix this. 😄 Thank you!!

Will do, thanks!

I can replicate the issue mmickey is/was experiencing. As indicated below you can see the version number along with a date of March 23 running the latest version. In the second image you can see there is no option to select “scan”.

@CSamuel 26389e8 uniondale Have you submitted a support ticket? They are able to give more specific information on what the issue could be. 😄

Additionally, this could be a product enhancement request for the barcode scanner to show up under each search category, not just the original search on the dashboard corner.

I see the same issue.  I am only able to scan barcodes on the Check In/Out screen.

@ajgreenawalt Thank you for updating us on this issue. Please make sure you have looked on the dashboard on the mobile app to see in the top right corner if there is a magnifying glass. The scan should pop up there as well.

If not, please submit a ticket to support. This could be a product enhancement request for the barcode scanner to show up under each search category, not just the original search on the dashboard corner. Please submit an idea to our Idea Exchange.

I’m on the current version of the Android app and it seems this is still an issue. Using the magnifying glass on the dashboard only offers a text search box and no option for scanning, which is where all of the documentation says it should be. As others reported, the only place I can find the scan option is in the Check In/Out part of the app.

I’m not sure what I am missing.  I still get this plain search bar when I tap the magnifying glass from the dashboard of the iiQ app.

Thank you everyone in this thread for the additional information.

I would submit a support ticket so they further investigate the issue. I am also reaching out internally to see if I can get answers 😁

Unfortunately I can not test it out on an Android phone (because i have an iphone).

But I am able to access the Scan option by selecting the magnifying glass at the top right corner.

I did update to the current version: 3.9.4.24080901
