I have the serial numbers of a bunch of items in our iiQ Assets. I want to, for each serial number, change their Status to “Retired” and alter some other fields as well. All my serials on in a csv file. Is there a way to import that file and have iiQ mass modify the assets?

You can bulk change the assets via a CSV by going to Assets on the left sidebar, then Asset Explorer, then Import Assets in the upper right hand corner. The headers in your CSV should match their IIQ equivalent names. Once you start the import, in the upper right hand corner of the pane, there’s a dropdown labelled “Asset Matching Strategy”. I generally use “Match by Serial Number” when I’m using the serial numbers as the key. Hope this helps.

Hello @SPenland 4671c29 gilmer

You can update assets through .CSV with our asset importer. By going to Assets > Import Assets, you’ll be able bring in this .CSV and update the asset. Since you’re using Serial Numbers for these assets, you’ll want to use the Serial Number matching logic to ensure an accurate asset match.

In your CSV, you’ll want to include the Columns that you want updated and you can remove any Column that is not needed for update. With the Status Column, you can put in Retired and have these Assets updated.

Here is our guide on utilizing the Asset Importer:
