Does anyone use IIQ to track changes for assets?

For example;

  • Record when a switch’s firmware is updated
  • Record when security patches are installed on a virtual server

How are you doing it? I’m not sure that creating a ticket each time for the asset would make for an easy to read change log.

You could probably create a custom field for this purpose and then you could use that custom field as a filter in a custom view if need be.

I created an idea last week for making the asset timeline filterable, and then to piggyback off of @nburke suggestion if the timeline is filterable you could use a custom field for what you need and always track when it’s changed in the timeline tab.
