Is there a way that devices coming into the depot can be tagged as they are scanned so a report can be generated for a daily report?

@DBrown 1738381 ccps Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

Are these devices already repopulated in iiQ or not? What integration are you using for scanning those devices in?

These devices are populated in IIQ.  Instead of repairing a device and getting that same device back to the student, a different device is assigned to the student.  The broken device is picked up by the depot for repair and is scanned into and Depot account as the user.  The ticket may have been created up to a week before the depot pickup.  When the device is repaired and returned it is scanned into a Spare Pool user for the school.  The device does not have to go back to the same school that it was obtained.  The depot driver scans the devices into IIQ and bulk assigns the Owner to the appropriate user, Depot for pickup or Spare Pool for the school for delivery.

Are the devices being checked out to a “depot” user account in iiQ? Or are they just being checked in/unassigned from the student?

I think I’m having trouble envisioning your workflow here.

The workflow is setup to have a user account known as Spare Pool for the school.  When a student brings in a defective device, that student is given one from the Spare Pool and it is assigned to that student.  When the device is picked up by the depot, the driver scans the devices and changes the owner to a user account known as Depot.  When the device is repaired, it is sent back to a school that may not be the one it came from and scanned into that school Spare Pool.  IIQ does not have a mechanism in place to export data from a user account to see how many devices were added that day so the question is to see if there is another method to track this workflow.

Hmm. I don’t know of an automatic way to do this, but you might be able to get the data from an asset view with the “owner changed” filter. You can set the date to a moving range (today, this week, etc).

@DBrown 1738381 ccps Thank you for the additional details and workflow.

I agree with @AMeyer Greendale Schools the owner changes and moves the date range filter to see which devices are changing each day. You can also schedule an SFTP report to export at the end of each school day with the list of those devices! I hope this helps.

I set up a view with the Owner Changed along with the Asset Owner being the Depot user account and it appears to be what is expected.  I appreciate the quick responses.

@DBrown 1738381 ccps Glad to hear it! Another solution provided by @AMeyer Greendale Schools 😄
