LabelWriter 550 Turbo
LW 1” x 2 1/8”
We use a barcode label printer made by Zebra. The model is a ZT410. It is 2” width and 1” height. We do not use the labels from IIQ, but we definitely would like to.
The labels hold pretty good, we switch devices out about every 3 years. For the most part, the labels last. That said, any kid that likes to pick, can remove the labels. :)
DYMO LabelWriter 450
28mm x 89mm
We are using a Zebra ZT230.
It would be great to see the option of adjusting label size as well as font size and line height.
I use a wasp WPL-305 thermal label printer with a software called bartender. The printer can be used with various size labels but I am currently using a 2”x..75 inch label security label.
Brand: Brother
Model: QL-810W
Label Dimensions: 1.1” x 3.5”
We have in our office a Brother PT-9500PC label maker that prints to 35mm wide tape, cut to size of whatever we want to print. It also supports printing to the much smaller 9mm wide tape.

Do y’all use any of these printers or are you currently using something else? We would love to hear your voices on this post 😄
We are using a Zebra ZT230 using a 3” x 2” label
Brand: Dymo
Model: Twin Turbo 450
Label Size: 1-1/8" by 3-1/2" and 2 5/16” by 4”
We use the DYMO LabelWriter 450 with 1-1/8” x 3-1/2”. These seem to work pretty well and stick well.
We love our label printers/media, but have struggled with needing scale down the document that is presented by IIQ...and the unintended results that produces. Does anyone have any tips or an article that might help?
Dymo Labelwriter 550, 1in x 2-1/8in., and 3/4in x 2-1/8in.
Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo, 1-1/8” x 3-1/2” labels.
We use a Brother p-touch P950NW with 1” extra strength adhesive label tape.
@William Gibson That is the information we are trying to gather from out community so we can provide with more resources for this task 😄 Once we gather enough information, we will be able to provide more direction and advise a little later down the line. Thanks for adding your printing settings!
Dymo 450 with 1-1/8" x 3-1/2" labels. The labels are a little too big for us and attract the attention of our “label pickers”. The labels we use are also not tamper evident or security labels. The HP MK11 G9 chromebooks don’t have a smooth surface so the labels don’t adhere well.
@benthicmp we use Demco label covers on top of the labels to help them stay. They have a really gummy adhesive and I use a squeegee to help apply them.
Would prefer to avoid dymo printers if possible. Never had success with the quality of their labels. I want to move toward more commercial grade printers and labels. Need IIQ to allow customization of label size and content placement. I have a Zebra ZD621 that I’m trying to get operational right now.

Rhetorical questions for the team:
Why not fill the label?
Why not crisp image? (it’s not the device, separate jobs do not do this)
Why so close to the top?
Why those dots along the bottom left/right of the asset #?
Bonus: Could use the extra L/R space for vertical text (possibly repeated, possibly person ID #….would like the ability to customize)
@William Gibson
All great questions and thank you for your input. Our team is looking into all these issues and how we can improve printing asset labels.
Dymo LabelWriter 550 with Dymo durable 1 in x 2 1/8 in labels.
Brand: Zebra
Model: ZD420
Label Size: 1.5in x .5in
DYMO Labelwriter 450 Turbo (we also use some other models of other Dymo units but all same size labels)
Size: 1in x 2 1/8in
Possible recommendation (at least for all the Dymo users, which appears to be a decent volume) is to use the Dymo Web service API (https://github.com/dymosoftware/DCD-SDK-Sample/tree/master/JavaScript) where the printer can be controlled via JavaScript (Dymo uses this for many web POS / Shipping applications). I think there is a similar solution for Zebra as well.
