We use pre-printed 2” x 1” asset tags from MetalCraft. No additional labels for student information. If we purchase 10,000 tags it comes out to be $0.07 per tag.

Really struggling as well with getting a crisp print and a would love a setting that it would center the information and fill the label space, or something like that. If anyone who uses a Rollo printer as well and has advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Is there no way to print these on sheets of labels like avery labels?
I use a wasp WPL-305 thermal label printer with a software called bartender. The printer can be used with various size labels but I am currently using a 2”x..75 inch label security label.
I tried Bartender but was having a hard time searching and printing specific labels. Any tips?
Are there any instructions out there for printing barcodes on Dymo? I can’t get mine to work. See attached lable. This is how mine come out.

@JHughes 1932ee5 sisd We cannot currently print on Avery Labels.
@drose807 @TechDavis @lpreedom @TAnders @KSimmons 680ec2c dasd are just a few that listed they use Dymo. Do y’all have any tips for @JHughes 1932ee5 sisd
We use the Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo with Dymo brand labels (1 1/8” x 3 1/2”) We had to install the Dymo print drivers on a Windows 10 machine but other than that it works perfectly most of the time. Change the print orientation to Landscape and it might help your issue.
How about the ability to generate customizable unique Asset numbers. This would alleviate the need to purchase asset tags and use incidentiq as the only asset tag source/pool.
ie. 2324xxxxxxxxx
We would like the devices purchase year to lead off the unique asset tag number.
So age of devices can be determined from a glance.

Dymo 550

Dymo Parts - LW DURABLE 3/4 INCH x 2-1/2 INCH (19 MM x 64 MM)

- Moisture-resistant design allows reliable use in damp conditions
- Perfect for labeling, warehousing, inventory and more
We currently purchase pre-printed asset labels, but I’d LOVE to just generate them from IIQ. Our techs all have Android based mobile devices with built-in barcode scanners (think Walmart stockers, etc.) as well as iPads. They also all have a Phomemo M110 mobile bluetooth label printer. The labels for it are 40mm wide by 30mm tall. If there was an option to print labels directly from the mobile app to the mobile bluetooth printer that would be awesome! We would even be open to buying some Zebra mobile printers if the M110 couldn’t be integrated.
We use Avery 5160’s, and a variety of Lexmark and Toshiba copiers and printers for this.

Thank you all for adding your printer and asset tag information to this post! 😄
We use the Brother P-Touch PT-9800PCN with the Strong Adhesive tape labels. slow printing, but sticks a lot better.
We’d love to use the DYMO, but can’t find DYMO brand strong Adhesive labels. If anyone knows of one, let me know! (the 550 turbo HAS to use DYMO brand labels, so be warned….the roll is ‘chipped’)
Brother pTouch PT-D600
.47”
We use the pTouch Software with a CSV to chain print the labels with Text and a QR code.
We have Brady Printer i3300 and i want to switch
@CPitzer 683580f roxbury how did you get your labels to be centered and scaled up to fill the whole label? I tried to use different settings with our Dymo 550 label maker (for labels size 1'' x 2-1/8''), but I couldn’t get it to scale.
We use Zebra ZD421 Thermal printers with 2” x 1.25” labels. We make custom labels with Zebra Designer since IIQ cannot customize how we want the labels.
Dymo 450 and 550 printers with Dymo 1” x 1” Durable labels
Thank you, everyone for continuing to comment on this thread. 😄

Is there any new movement on label printing? We are still supporting two different asset tracking software because we are not able to print what we would like on labels that we prefer.
@Jeff MacKinder No moment quite yet. Thank you for your patience on this. 😄
The label printing system for Incident IQ is a painful experience. As an asset management system that should be one of the top features that should have been built out better. Very disappointing to see since many schools require these asset tags to drive student device deployment and information at a glance. The lack of customizability will make it hard for us to use IncidentIQ as a full blown asset manager and replace our old systems until that is taken care of.
Previous we’ve used avery 5520 labels for our asset tags + avery 5163 labels for student identification labels. However, with IncidentIQ only supporting 3 x 1.5” labels on a Dymo printer by default that is impossible.
There are many other asset management solutions out there that offer the customizability you would need for asset tags. For instance, the free open-source asset management software snipe-it is capable of a robust customization of your asset tags. Including the ability to have both a barcode + QR code on the same ticket. As well as the customization of options to include custom text/custom fields such as “Graduation Year” or “Homeroom” of the student. We would love the ability to have our labels have both the School ID barcode + asset tag barcode.
It would be nice to be able to have a label template feature as well where you could build out custom labels whether it be for device type, student/staff labels, facilities labels, etc. Then you could select which label type you would like to print. For instance, being able to print a student identification label for the checked out device that includes the student’s school ID as the barcode and be able to switch that option to print a device label w/ asset tag barcode without having to go into site options to change this constantly.
Limiting people to certain ticket sizes / printer types extremely limits the ability to print thousands of device labels at a time and properly organize them. IncidentIQ has without a doubt the worst asset labeling feature of any asset management software.
Given that IncidentIQ has known about the limitation for years including multiple community forum posts. It is disappointing to say the least that they allow for ideas and suggestions to be voted on in the community forums, however, not everyone seems to engage in the community forums enough to deem the features “worthy” of attention from the developers. It would be nice to see some action regarding this soon as we will need a solution for our labels by April of 2024. However, it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to rely on IncidentIQ for mass labeling and will likely need to find other means for asset management.

@Dakota SDOW
Thank you for providing all that information. This is something the we have heard from our community members that needs enhancing. This is on our product roadmap. 😁
Brother P-Touch PT-P750W using the 24mm height tape. Bought them with the initial intention of using the labels from IIQ, however unsuccessful do to the way the document is from IIQ. These labels are great as they are more durable than paper ones.
Please, please, please allow customizable labels. Something generic that we can batch print, like on Avery labels. This would be the most beneficial and cost effective for most users.
