If so, are you integrating it with Microsoft 365 (Outlook)? Our District is looking at adding the Events module to our iiQ. We want to know what your experience has been?

@vince Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

We have heard from various districts that have iiQ Events! I am going to tag some of them below for their feedback.

@KClark 101d6b libertyk12 @Cozmo03 @SCameron 2339bbd newcaneyisd Any thoughts?

We have purchased it yet, but we are still in the implementation process. Definitely interested on how people are doing with it.

@Kahthryn carter

Thank you for tagging the responses to my question about the Events module. FYI; only one person made a comment. So I wondering if I am looking in the right place?

We have it and have gone through the implementation. I can tell you that we were not prepared for the “lift” it was going to take to get this module off the ground. It’s a lot and we were not prepared. With that being said we haven’t even used it even though we have payed for it.

Not to scare you off but it’s a lot.

@jmerwin

Thanks for the information. Do you guys use Microsoft 365 Outlook to integrate it with the calendar or are you using Google Calendar? We’re trying find out if we schedule a meeting in Outlook calendar, reserve a conference room, and have Outlook tell Events module that conference room is reserved. Is that possible?

Hello cozmo03, have you finished the implementation of iiQ EVents module? If so, are you using it with Microsoft 365 Outlook? Meaning, can you create a meeting in Outlook reserving a meeting room; does that room show reserved in Events?

@vince Although the calendar integrations can sync both ways, as a Customer Success Manager I personally don’t recommend that my districts sync Events into iiQ from the calendars continuously. It is best practice to have your staff or outside organizations schedule their Events using Incident IQ because of the ability to track the availability of rooms/spaces, and to ask various event related questions such as “will you need IT equipment or services”, “will you need tables/chairs”, “do you need use of the scoreboard”, or “do you need the bleachers pulled out”. If Events are added to a Microsoft calendar and then they sync into iiQ you will lose that functionality which has become such a great feature to be able to ask your requestor questions, or provide Event related details.  @jmerwin I would be sure to reach out to your Customer Success Manager to see if there is something that we can do to make the process easier. Oftentimes there are some changes that can be made on your end, or within the setup of your Events instance that can help or there may be something new that we have added or learned that can help streamline things too!

@vince

We’ve been using IIQ for several years now. I set up the Incident IQ Events module for our district. Anyone can feel free to PM if you have any questions. I would like to reiterate jmerwin’s statement that it is a lot of work to setup but also to maintain. We’re reverting back to our Google form event reservation until we find a better solution. The Events module could still use some work. Our users, and the support staff I trained to approve events, found it to be convoluted. I wanted to love this product but couldn’t, especially for the cost of the module.

@jmerwin @calexander

Thanks for the feedback. We were able to demo the Events Module. We did find the setup to be a “heavy lift” but I expected that due to the size of our District (we’re 4th or 5th largest in OR.) I also found out the Events module does need more work I think iiQ is on the right track. Once the Events Module matures, I can see it being a real powerhouse.
