We want to include any school field trips or offsite events in IIQ so everything is in one place.  It appears all Events require a room, so I created a room called “No Location”.

I have a situation where there are multiple field trips from one school happening in one day, but I can’t book the second one, since “No Location” is already booked.   Is there way to allow a room to have multiple reservations?  I want to avoid having “No Location-1”, “No Location-2”, etc.

@j_collinswb Ooooohhhh, this is a good one!

My recommendation for this one would be to create an actual ‘Place’ or ‘Location’ (in the Places let nav) that is named “No Location” or “Field Trip Location”. With in the ‘Field Trip Location’ your rooms could be named where the field trips are actually taking place, “Zoo”, “Botanical Garden”, “Skating Rink”, etc. or you could generic name them as above.
Some things to keep in mind:

  • Locations are shared platform wide and will show in every module however you set it up in iiQ Events. Keep this in mind that someone could submit a ticket at this location from within another module, so write rules to prevent that.
  • Rooms can be imported from a .CSV making the creation of the ‘No Location 1’, etc. much easier.

Hope this recommendation helps!
