Updating Parts Cost

Why is updating the cost of a part is complicated?

The BOT initially referred me to Import Parts which does not have Unit Cost. When I mentioned that, it corrected itself and told me to Import Inventory. Which I did, then I noticed that it skipped the part because it was saying that no parts are found.

Long story short, I exported the part, updated the cost and import the file. Then had to made sure that Qty Available at Location(s) is mapped to Location even though that field is empty before it allowed me to import the inventory and change the Avg Cost.

There has to be a easier way of updating this...

@JChua 517ab93 southorangetown Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

I totally agree it seems like a roundabout way of updating parts. I think if you had started with importing inventory, it would have been an easier to start. All of the information should be included within the importing session where you can update the location and cost.

Thanks @Kathryn Carter , this would mean that I need to import the part everytime the cost changes

@JChua 517ab93 southorangetown Yes, correct. Which is not ideal, however hopefully those parts do not change as often!
