Hello everyone,

 I am in the process of building our Events platform. The goal is to automatically create a ticket on facilities or IT platform if one of those departments is needed. I created the template and the rule to make that happen, however, when the ticket opens on the Facilitiy side it just Facilties/Events in the subject line. Is there a way to grab the same subject line from the Events portal and have it open the ticket on the Facility and/or IT side of it with the same subject line?

@AFoote 86364c1 ccsl Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

Are you creating this tickets from a Ticket Template? You are able to set the subject for the tickets

Hello,

I am, so right now I have two ticket templates (one for the IT and one for the Facilities. On the Events platform, I have a rule to notify IT and Facilities if “Yes” is selected if either department is needed for an Event. I did adjust the subject line as you mentioned, but I am hoping that once a ticket is created in Events, the same subject line gets put on the IT and Facilities Ticket and it matches on all platforms.

Here is an example;

I want that same subject line to be on the tickets that opens on the other two platforms

We have been trying to set up our Event platform as well and have not found a way to bring over the Event Ticket information in the Facilities side other than mapped fields within the sub ticket. When setting up the Ticket Template in Facilities, there doesn’t seem to be a way to insert variable data in the Subject. I did change the Ticket Subject it to Event Request: Whatever Department Request. So for example, if the event is requesting Tech Support, I have a rule set up to create a sub ticket. As you can see, every single ticket looks the same. Our teams then have to click into each ticket to figure out when, where, who, etc.

@EThomas 99331c6 stcatherines thank you for this! That was our big thing, limit the clicking through each ticket to see the details/event name. However, what you did is the direction we may have to go in. Thank you for the help!

@AFoote 86364c1 ccsl While you are unable to add that ticket varible into the subject, you can add additional details into those subtickets:

Here is an additional idea to reference as well:

@Kathryn Carter  - I have looked into trying to use the Variable Data Points but it doesn’t look like there are variable date fields for event ticket information. Most of the event fields seem to be custom fields. If anyone has figured out how to use variable data points FROM events module into another I would love to learn.

@EThomas 99331c6 stcatherines Let’s get the variable data points for events into our Idea Exchange: https://community.incidentiq.com/ideas
