Long term substitute not able to submit a ticket through My Classes

We have a couple of long term substitutes in our district. I would love for them to be able to use the My Classes option to submit a ticket in iiQ. However, they show that they have no students. These teachers are added to the SIS as substitutes. One was a co-teacher with one of our regular teachers, but is full time now that, that teacher has gone on leave.

How can I allow them to use My Classes?

Hi Michelle,

Ultimately, since the substitute is not assigned as the primary teacher within your SIS, their classes/roster will not appear. Even though they are listed as a co-teacher, the system only recognizes users designated as the primary teacher. If the substitute is not set as the sole primary teacher, we will not be able to read them as the teacher within your SIS.

If you would like to discuss this further as your CSM, please feel free to contact me.

@mwhite Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

My first follow up question is inside your SIS, is the substitute assigned as the main teacher now? As that information is written over into iiQ, it will populate under that main teacher.

she is not the primary teacher. The “regular” teacher is the primary in Aeries. I believe we have that for the State reporting purposes.  But we have the 2nd teacher a yes on all the other sections; Attendance, gradebook, grade reporting and student access.

How would you situate co-teaching? On the regular schedule, the “regular” teacher works 4 days and the other teacher works 1 day. The regular teacher is out for 5 months, but will be back in April.

@mwhite Is this long term sub assigned to the room as well?

No, the co-teacher will be teaching full time, while the primary is on leave. Then when the primary comes back, they will go back to co-teaching.

@mwhite Michelle, within iiQ, will the long term sub be assigned to the room as well? Having the user assigned to the room will help, so they can see the assets in the room. 😄
