When creating a template, an asset and location (and even the issue) are required. Objective is to create a generic template for a particular issue. Then when wanting to submit bulk tickets for an allotment of devices using the template.

Unfortunately, an asset has to be associated when creating the template. Then when using the template for the bulk allotment, in the description the associated asset is listed in each ticket. Eventhough the different assets are properly attached to the tickets. Causing you to have to open each ticket to correct/amend the asset in the description to match the asset attached to the ticket.

Frustrating and counterproductive.

Hi @Ladybug 🐞!

Thank you for submitting your feedback regarding Ticket Templates. One alternative could be to select the Submit for Multiple Locations when creating a template.

Yes you have to select an asset and issue, but the asset could be generic like a Chromebook Model. Then if you have a list of asset tags you can search for those and bulk add to a ticket template. It will create a separate ticket for each asset and set the location to the location of the asset. Again, the asset model would have to be the same as well as the issue/issue category you are submitting the tickets in bulk for.

While I realize this doesn’t completely eliminate your frustrations I wanted to make sure you were aware this was an option. Let us know how it goes 🙂

@Ladybug Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

I will also say one of our Product Owners just commented a very extensive workaround on this thread that I would suggest you check out as well:
