I am trying to create a ticket template that will: Add the asset tag of the device.  Technicians can use this template to rename a device.  It needs the device serial number, asset tag and student id.  Is there an action or a way I can create this kind of template?

You can absolutely create a ticket template which allows your agents to be more efficient when a device is needed to be renamed. 

I suggest to first create an issue category “Rename Device” or whatever name you feel is appropriate for your techs if you don’t already have one. See screenshot below: Admin > Issues. I added it under Other Requests as an example. Start with clicking +New Issue Category then once added click +ADD to add an Issue Type. You can adjust the visibility for Agents and iiQ Admins only if you prefer them to be the only users able to submit these types of tickets. 

 

 

Then create a separate custom field for the information you want to capture, Asset Tag (see screenshot with Field Type IIQ Asset), Serial Number and Student ID. Custom Fields can be accessed through Admin > Custom Fields.

 

Once the custom fields are created, attach it to the newly created issue category which can also be used when creating the ticket template. 

 

Ticket Templates can be created under Tickets > Ticket Templates > Add Ticket Template. You can also adjust who is able to submit the ticket with the Permissions/Sharing tab.
