Is there a way to control the status that is set when an agent uses the “Send for Approval” button and selects a user to approve? We need the agent to send to the first approver, but then the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th approvers are the same regardless of first approver. When manually sent for approval, the status is set to “in progress” when approved. I can’t use that status as a trigger as the ticket has to go “in progress” for the agent to access the send for approval button.

Thanks for any ideas or solutions!

Good morning,

Yes, we do have some possibilities.  I just created one on my test site.   Here is the workflow.  I made this with three approval steps, but you can expand to add as many additional approval steps you are looking for.

  1. After you manually assign an approval, and it is approved, it will then trigger a “when approved rule”.  One thing to note is you should exclude the other approval statuses, in your approval workflow is it could cause a loop, back to the original “when approved rule”

  1. In the when updated field, and you can then start applying the traditional approval rules with the EAW found here

Please let me know if that helps you out.
