Over the last few days, whenever I go to assign an asset to a user, I have to do it twice because nothing happens after the first time. I’ve heard from other agents in our organization who are experiencing the same issue. Is anyone else seeing this?
Does the Timeline for the device show anything helpful? I tend to see a delay before the device is assigned, but that seems to be more of a caching issue or similar.
Not that I’m seeing. It’s every device too. When I go to assign it the first time, it flashes and nothing appears. I do it again following the same steps and it appears. It’s happening on multiple different devices, multiple users, and multiple locations. Very strange.
Hmm. If I was having this issue, I would try assigning the device a few ways:
- Asset Check in/out
- Going to the asset’s page & assigning an owner
- Going to a user’s page & assigning a device
Just to see if any of those is working. From there, I’d contact support.
Based on your information, I would submit a ticket to support for this, just as
I submitted a ticket to support and they said that it’s always been like this when assigning a device from a user’s profile. He shared a screen recording showing the same thing I’m seeing. According to support, this is how it’s intended to work. Technically, it works after the first time, it just doesn’t post the picture right away. I’m struggling to understand why this would be happening by design and/or why we just started seeing it.
If you refresh the page, does the device show up? I typically don’t see the device right away, but a refresh of the user’s page has the device listed most of the time.
