I had to make all of my staff agents to let them see the inventory for the locations I specified. There is a way you can allow them to be able to assign owners for those same locations but there isn’t a way to limit it to just students.
Hello! Have you tried copying the standard staff permissions, renaming it for your principals/secretaries, and then checking the “view” feature under assets? You can then assign this to those principals/secretaries and it will elevate the standard staff permissions for those people (but keep them in the staff role). However, if you need them to check in/out devices you might consider promoting them to an “agent”.
The only way right now is to make them an Agent, they won’t be able to see anything even if you grant them View Assets access individually because the “Agent View” is separate from the “Staff View”. You can set the default agent policy to a very minimal access staff role, then you have to manually remove their access to work/resolve tickets for their assigned location once you upgrade them to Agent. We have this set up for quite a few different staff roles.
Down the line we have been told they are revamping Permissions/Roles to where we will be able to create custom roles and have more granular permissions, but I haven’t seen an update on that in quite some time, it was estimated to be released Spring 22, but that is nearly over.
@hmezza @Belcher.shane @TAnders I just wanted to follow up with this question! It is possible to assign non agents the ability to check in and out devices. I have attached 2 examples:
In the latest updates for Rollout Scout, you can assign Rollout Scout permissions to non agents now.
