Recently we were doing an in person audit with our Intermediate school to test run the process before we roll it out to everyone. Our media specialist wanted a report to be made with each students Homeroom to see which Homeroom hasn't completed the audit yet. I can see an option for Homeroom mapping when i go into the settings of PowerSchool but there is nothing that comes up when i export a list of students. Would this be on IIQs side or would we have to look into it on the PowerSchool side.

Hello @evanhees!

Our district uses Skyward for our SIS. However, I recently had a similar request from one of our Librarians, as the Homeroom mapping is also blank. After discussing the homeroom field with our Data team, currently the Skyward integration does not have this functionality set up. It was suggested that I reach out to Skyward support to request this enhancement. I would suggest to also check with PowerSchool, as it likely is on their end.

Well we have our Homerooms listed in a field in PS on each student. I feel like it could be mapped if we were able to select the fields we wanted to populate each category. I didn't know if there was some configuration I had to do on the IIQ side or the PS side

@evanhees Thank you for your question. You should be able to pull over the homeroom information from PowerSchool. When you are pulling the data from PowerSchool, do you have the homeroom mapped? Here is the guide to give you detailed step by step to get this set up.

Once you have mapped the homeroom, you should be able to filter by teacher name (for students), which would be their homeroom in our system.

I hope this helps 😄

I read through that to see if i missed a setting in our PS app and i did not see an option to import rooms.

  • Add Rooms to Users: Assign the user with their homeroom.
    • This is from that article. We only have the option to skip calendar.

Would it be a setting that our IIQ admin would change?

@evanhees Interesting! I just looked into the back end and saw you are pulling homeroom, but when I added the owner’s homeroom column, it was not pulling the owner’s homeroom to sort by.

I added the filter- Excluding the audit status, and it gave me the ability to see which devices were not verified yet. Let me ask our team to see if we can add the homeroom as a column (as it looks like you should be able to)

@evanhees Alright, I spoke with our Product team, and this function will be an enhancement currently in development. Are you interested in testing this? There is no guarantee, but I can add to you the list of potential districts!

Additionally, thinking of workarounds for this, if you have locations & rooms linked to students, you could filter by rooms. Try this and let me know! 😄

@Kathryn Carter

I would be interested in that enhancement! But unfortunately we do not have rooms linked to students.
