We are trying to make a rule for when a new student or new staff is created in Incident IQ. Our SIS syncs with iIQ and the new “user” is created. I have made the ticket templates for the rule trigger; however, I don’t have a unique qualifier for the user except for the school id or email domain. There is no way to use a wildcard for these fields. Additionally, there is currently no Email filter, only the personal email filter. We cannot use the Role field as every user created in iIQ is entered through the sync as Student role.

How can I get my 2 rules to work? Or is there an idea that I can upvote and will have to wait for the improvement to get my rules to trigger?

I’m probably not understanding your goal here…  I have a rule set to email me when a new iiQ user is created, which sounds similar to what you’re doing. If the SIS is creating the user, that could/should be the trigger for the ticket? I haven’t explored creating a ticket/using a template, so perhaps that’s why mine is fine.

Mine is set like the screenshot below.

@mwhite Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

You do not need the “qualifier,” as you called it, for the rule to trigger because any new account that comes will trigger the email.

Thanks @AMeyer Greendale Schools for that confirmation as well!

Ok, so it sounds like I need to submit this “email” filter or “School ID” filter as an Idea for the Account section of rules?

@mwhite They are there but for a existing accounts.

I guess you could exclude them but I am still unsure why you need to add the filter.

under rules.

@mwhite This rule should fire when all new user accounts are created so you do not need to add a filter to the rule.
