I have a User filter to find out which students have multiple devices assigned to them, but I want to exclude any students who have a spare as their 2nd device.  This will help us ensure that students turn in any devices they shouldn’t have.

I looked searched for a solution or idea, but couldn’t find one.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks,

Amy

@AThuesen 973f200 austinmn You might be able to run an Assets Explorer view to cross reference with the multiple devices view. In Assets, you could create a spare pool view (Filter - Group Name) and (Filter - Role - Student) to see which students have Spare Pool devices assigned.

After reviewing these users’ accounts (Or running a separate asset view of these users), you could then export that list of users in a file, copy their names, paste them in your multiple devices view (Filter - User), and then exclude them from your multiple devices custom view if they do not apply.

You could build a student asset report as well and exclude Spare Pools, but that would cover all students with assets as opposed to just students with multiple devices.

@AThuesen 973f200 austinmn Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

Do your spares have a custom field? This would be able to exclude those spares from the views.

Both good ideas! Thank you for the suggestions.

I tried Kathryn’s suggestion of creating a custom field for the spares - but that custom field option doesn’t show up when I’m in the User view.  Drat.

I did end up using the Justin’s method of exporting my spare pool user list and then excluding them from my Asset view of users with multiple devices.  So I got it!

Thank you to both who responded with suggestions.
