Question

Can we create custom Asset numbers?

We have just partnered with Incident IQ and are trying to figure if it’s possible to create a 4 digit Asset Number?

We have a 4 digit system that we can upload via CSV but going forward how do we generate the same sequence in IncidentIQ?

Hi @AShaikh 8505cc4 yorkschool ,

I hope you’re doing great! In IIQ, assets can be created with 4 or more digits. Assets in IIQ can be created individually by navigating to Assets > + New Asset, in bulk by using Import Assets, or by integrating with Apps such as Google Devices app. To create assets in a sequence, you would need to make sure the Asset Tags of the assets in the CSV are in a sequence. After the CSV file is imported, the assets will appear in IIQ in that sequence.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. May you have a great rest of your day!

Regards,

Jas

I am aware of this solution but it does not meet our needs. We want to be able to generate a 4 digit code thats in sequence and follows a pattern. Right now the system only generates a generic 8 digit alpha numeric code that’s random

@AShaikh 8505cc4 yorkschool Unfortunately that is not something that we support at this time. It would be awesome if it would generate tags based off of your parameters. You can submit your new idea here: https://community.incidentiq.com/ideas

Here is an idea you can add your feedback on that is similar:

Thanks Kathryn for this. I have already reviewed this post already and noticed it’s 3 years old. Has there been any progress on this from technical team?
