Do not like that Import Assets now require an Import Schedule :(

This is new this morning, when importing assets (using a CSV), there is now a “Define an import schedule” step.

1000000% this requires a “RUN NOW” option, or let us pick the exact minute!
Importing assets already takes a long time with so many steps and wait time as it processes its steps.

EDIT: I selected a time before my current time and it looks like the import is going.

OR is this a bug with the new Scheduled Import SFTP option that dropped yesterday?

I’m in the Manual Import and still get that “Define an import schedule” step

I haven’t done a manual import yet since this feature released because I’m trying to work through some things for it, but right off it seems buggy because when doing a manual import it shows a new step at the top regarding SFTP settings. Even though it skips it and goes straight to field mapping, I don’t think that step is necessary to be displayed for a one-time import.

Not a smooth implementation when you see stuff like this. I say all the time that iiQ needs some beta-testers to vet these things before making features generally available.

I selected to use Manual import not Scheduled import. However, it still required the schedule import step before progressing to the preview step. The options for the only once schedule are only for on the hour or on the half hour. An import used to take seconds to a couple minutes. Now the import reminds pending until the closest hour or half hour time available.

This restriction is a hinderance to the workflow. Importing assets worked quickly and efficiently until this change.

Why was this changed to create unnecessary barriers to complete an import?

Will an import now option be added back soon?

Thanks!

We are experiencing the same and we will do a ticket but agreed this is not expected behavior if you do not go into schedule an upload.

And agree with jclark!  Need Beta testers who use the product daily.

As a workaround, I just select a date and time. Then I can move forward to next screen where I can run the import manually.
