Import Assets

MReid 777163d nbpsnj

I have a csv file of Backup UPS devices in my district.  I want to import these devices as assets in Incident IQ, but none of these devices have Asset Tags, so if I import them, the Asset Tag field will be empty.  Can I still import this file and not get any errors?

Hi Michael, thank you for your message! In order to import devices into Incident IQ, the system requires an asset tag. Do you happen to have any manufacturer serial numbers available for these devices? If so, you can use that serial number data to serve as the asset tag in your import. Alternatively, you can create unique asset tags if you'd prefer (such as UPS000001, UPS000002, etc.)

Please let me know if this is helpful or if you have any follow-up questions.

Best Regards,
Ashley

Hey Ashley,

I have serial numbers of the units.  I’ll use those in the asset tag field

Ashley or anyone else,

I have imported my csv file into IIQ, but I forgot to upload pictures of the devices.  How can I upload the pics after the import is done?  Is this possible, or do I have to re-upload the csv and do it all over?

@MReid 777163d nbpsnj Great question! If you have the CSV already made, you can just update it by adding those photos and re-uploading. It will not affect what you have already uploaded but will just update it. I hope that helps 😄
