Is there a way through the asset importer, or another method, to mass link assets?

We have 900 iPads that each have their own case that we want to link to each other. So it would be a 1:1 link for each iPad.

That seems like a solid idea - and I think you can update custom fields through a CSV.

Might have issues in the future when an iPad or case needs replacing, but seems an OK solution for now!

@MLocke 773d4ae eacs Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

First I am going to direct you to this link. It might not have exactly what you are looking for but it is a good reference.

Next to update those assets via import, here are 2 ideas for that:

I hope this helps! 😄

Do the cases have asset tags?

As an aside - I don’t believe you can export the linking data. Any asset export does not include this piece of information.

Yes we did tag the cases. They are pricey and have serial numbers. So we wanted to keep track of them for warranty reasons.

I was thinking about just doing a custom field on the iPad that had the asset tag of the case. I could see someone wanting a report at some point. So I think I will go down that route.
