Is there a way to see assets that are added in Ticketing/Assets in Facilities?  Reason for a need is if we are tracking high cost items, some things fall in tech so they are in our asset/ticketing module the rest would be facility equipment and we wanted to run reports on all these items would i need to re-create the item in both? I tried giving visibility to a model type that would be in both like a Copy Machine, but it does not appear as an asset in Facilities.  That seams to have just added the ability to create tickets for them in the Facilities category.

Thanks,

FG

@FGonz Great question! Typically, assets “live” only in the module in which they are created. The exception to this is going to be IT Assets which could also be accessed (check in/out with permission) through the iiQ Resources module (but assets created from the Resources module are not accessible within the Assets module).

Currently we don’t have a way to pull a combined report (custom view) of assets across modules. My best recommendation would be to create the report with the same column set up in both modules, export the reports and then combine the data.
There is a similar open idea in the Exchange that you can add your use case to and upvote:

I hope this information helps!

If an item like a copy machine that is not assigned to a user was created as a facilities asset, can ticketing tickets be created for them? so they would live in the facilities module but users who don’t access the facilities module could see the copier if the model is visible to ticketing? Or is removing access to facilities going to make it so ticketing won’t see it?  I can have it live in facilities if my staff can ticket them when an issue happens.  bigger things like vehicles are not so much an issue is more the expensive tech.

@FGonz Can you check the product visibility and share a screenshot? It could be the visibility of the model.

As Kathryn mentioned you could change the visibility of the model category and model, adding ticketing but I believe you still need to have Facilities “turned on” on the ticket side to see those particular models to select them when creating a ticket.
