Hello, @shennessy. I reached out to a few iiQ team members for some recommendations.

If you are not wanting to retain any classes from the last school year, then there should not be any harm in keeping it running without suspending the sync. 

If you are wanting to retain classes from the last year over the summer, then you should suspend the sync. If the sync runs and there are no active courses (when their schedules roll over), then iiQ will not read any enrollments and wipe the course/schedules from users.
