We're looking at integrating our Blackbaud SIS data to IIQ using the CSV One Roster sync for the first time, primarily for linking students to parents for damage notifications/billing, etc.

One big concern is the visibility of class data (teacher/section assignments) for parents and students. Over the summer, we hide that information from parents/students in our SIS. If we sync with IIQ, will that information be visible to parents/students? Both parents and students currently have logins and can submit tickets in IIQ.

Is there a way to ensure rosters/teacher assignments are hidden from parents/students during the summer? Or, is there a way through the One Roster sync interface to ONLY sync parents/student user information during the summer? Could I just delete the class files from the ZIP, or would that generate an error?

Thanks for any advice!

@RKEstrada Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

So, it seems like you are trying to restrict your parents & students from seeing next year’s teacher. I suggest removing the parent/student permission to log into iiQ until those users need submit tickets at the start of school. Then, you can turn on the ability to log in closer to the start of school. It would be a best practice to continue those syncs.

Hi @Kathryn Carter ,

Thanks for the response!  Unfortunately our students and parents log tickets over the summer, so we can’t really lock them out.  :-(

@RKEstrada Could you have them email instead? Unless you want to cancel your sync (which is NOT recommended), that would be another way to track those tickets still but restrict access.

Or even have them submit tickets using a remote support ticket link? This could be a way to limit access during the summer.
