Is there a way to allow users to cancel their own event? We have users that like to book rooms and then are flexible when someone else needs the room and the times conflict. They want to be able to cancel their request or their approved event, which we are fine with. Is there a permission for that?

Hi @JGilder 240e2f8 brawleyhigh,

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, there is a permission that will allow your internal users to cancel their own events.

How Event Cancellation Works for Requestors

Approved Events (After Approval)

  • Permission Setting: To allow standard users to cancel an event after it has already been approved, you need to check their assigned Role / Permission Policy under iiQ Events.

  • Configuration Path:

    1. Go to Admin > Users > Permission.

    2. Select the Policy applied to your standard requestors (e.g., Faculty / Staff).

    3. Navigate to the Events section.

    4. Ensure the permission "Manage Events" is toggled ON.

    5. Then Save the Policy.

This will allow requestors to view their Events under Dashboard > My Events and update their Event Status. However, enabling this permission will also allow the user to approve their own Pending Event.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Here is an idea about more granular permissions for events: https://community.incidentiq.com/ideas/more%2Dgranular%2Dmanage%2Devents%2Dpermissions%2D7553
