Room assignments for staff

Going down another rabbit hole here.

We are looking at adding rooms to staff profiles in iiQ.

We use Google SSO and Infinite Campus for our SIS.

In iiQ Admin>Apps>Manage>Infinite Campus>Settings tab, I turned on the Add Rooms to users option.

This pulled homerooms for students only. 

Should this data be populated for staff as well?

We definitely had some of that, I believe our IC admin had to add a couple schools’ room numbers. We also had quite a few that had the room slightly off from IIQ, for example the actual room number was 208-4, in IIQ it was correct (208-4), but IC had it as 2084, so it didn’t sync, and the room had to be adjusted in IC before it would sync.

We have that turned on, there is a setting in IC that needs to be turned on (I don’t remember which one of course) but we had to turn it on in the classes for each teacher’s homeroom, along with the entire section if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I’m not a Campus admin, only IIQ, so I can’t remember what setting it was, sorry!

Knowing that it can work is helpful! Was this something you did recently?

Our IC admin is new to the role - and everyone’s busy, of course, so I’ll follow up with him once he has some time.

We turned it on last year, I want to say around November? As long as their homeroom actually has a room assigned in IC, and that room number and location match an existing room/location in IIQ, the sync should work once that setting is on.

Ok - so that’s recently enough that IC shouldn’t have changed a ton in the background for us. I’ll follow up with our data coordinator once he’s not so busy.

I learned a few of our schools aren’t using room numbers, so that’s a separate but related issue to address!
