Is there a way to check in assets while simultaneously returning the spare? Due to the volume of tickets we get, >5000 per school year, sometimes students come back with their loaner Chromebook before we fix it.

The librarian/aide doesn’t have the means or time to find the original ticket, so they will just use the check in/out feature and check the Chromebook in. However, that Chromebook is still attached to the ticket and is unable to be checked out. It would be nice that when checking in a Chromebook it also returns the loaner.

In my previous district, we didn’t use the spare pool. Any loaners had an asset tag that reflected their loaner status (ie: buildingname-repair-loaner-1). This allowed staff to check them out without using the spare pool.

In my current district, I have an asset view on my dashboard with all the spare pool devices. I can locate the asset tag in the list, click on it & view the associated ticket. From there, I can click “return asset”.

If any of this is helpful/you’d like screenshots just let me know.

I think you are looking for an action of return device to spare pool within the rules engine. Here is an idea to upvote and comment on:
