I’m currently in the midst of cleaning up our Models/Model categories. I am hoping to find a way to export our existing Model Categories to a spreadsheet, associate those categories with their models within the spreadsheet, and then link the overall Model Category/Models to their associated Issues/Resolution Actions which I have already created in separate spreadsheets. Currently I have over 600 enabled Models and over 120 enabled Model Categories (hence the need for cleanup). Does anyone have a tip on how to export this as a .csv so I don’t have to type out and organize 600 rows/columns?

Hi @KSmith 6409d72 agcharter I maybe missing something but I think what you're looking for is to export assets. Go to asset explorer to all assets and then chose export. Then change the columns that your exporting to Manufacture, Model, Category as well as asset tag. This should give you all the information you were wanting to export.

^^ agree with @BStead 367a84d nclack
Export your assets along with the model category and model columns. Then, you can clean up the data from there.

Hello,

I’m in a somewhat similar situation as KSmith.I have mapped the assets models I will be bringing in my initial import.  I would like to see (Export) all of the Enabled Models and Model Categories so that I can review and adjust them prior to my initial asset import. Any hints on exporting (models and model categories) these without having to first import the assets? Thanks!

Exporting the models and categories did help but it was a long list to clean up. Also, the categories aren’t exactly 1:1. Custom categories don’t show up exactly as they’re listed. But overall the export listed above worked for my purposes. Once it was in Sheets/Excel I just had to put a custom format to highlight/hide the duplicate assets that way I only had a single asset of each listed and then associated to it’s model category.

@KSmith 6409d72 agcharter Glad it worked for you! Also in Excel you can use the UNIQUE function and create a new sheet to build you model and asset lists.

@JDaws 840b1c8 scsd If you really want the models and categories before assets exist then your looking at the API data. Login to iiQ as your admin account and go to the following URL in your browser https://REPLACE-ME.incidentiq.com/api/v1.0/assets/models?$s=999999 replacing the “REPLACE-ME” portion with your url this will give you the JSON if you then feel so inclined you can throw this into https://converterapp.power2apps.com/ online convertor and get an excel sheet where you can sort all the data. This isn't as clean as the first method but it should get the job done. 😁

Wow @BStead 367a84d nclack great workaround and something I’ve never done before until now 😁

@JDaws 840b1c8 scsd There is an idea about being able to export lists under administration. This would be a great one to upvote.
