We don’t have Asset Manager and it isn’t possible for this year at least. How can I best associate 30 CBs to a cart and a cart to a room…

Custom fields have been mentioned…

Can anyone point me to instructions or give me a headstart on where to begin with this?

How do you have Chromebooks in there now, if you do not have Asset Manager? Are they standing open tickets in a certain status or something?

I’m not the main IIQ person so my answers are probably too simplistic. I apologize…

I’ve been told we have “Asset Manager light” so our chromebooks are in IIQ and we can submit tickets and check in/out using IIQ… We just can’t do the linking asset to asset. (so a cart to 30 CBs.) so I”m trying to figure out if there is a work around…

Sorry if Im not explaining things well as I learn

Oh ok, that makes sense. If you have the Places tab, with your site locations and rooms, you can create a “Room” that is named what the cart is (Ex, SchoolName-Room3-Cart5), then assign the chromebooks that are in that cart to the new “IIQ Room”. You can make an assets view for each new “Room cart” on your campus after that and view the assets that way. You might not have permissions to edit/create rooms, depends how your district has it set up. Rooms can be imported though if your IIQ Admin does not allow your position to create/edit rooms, you can have them send you the Room import template and you can fill it in and send it back to them with the rooms you would need. You can also fill in the asset import template with the room assignments and it can all be updated in 2 imports.

Side note, that will allow you to map them back to an OU in Google as well but your main IIQ person would probably have to do that. Your main IIQ person would do that under your Google Device’s App inside IIQ.

This is what our “Chromebook Cart Rooms” look like:

@GMiles 240ccd7 effingham Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

There are various workflows for our users, and I am linking a thread for you to reference to get an idea of what other districts are using as well.

Thank you @TAnders for jumping in with your workflow as well 😄
