I updated the asset locations in the High School spare pool group for Long-Term devices. Specifically, I set the Location to:

  • School: High School

  • Room: 268

  • Specific Location: Cart 1

I made sure to save the updated location details for each asset, and confirmed that the updates were correctly reflected immediately afterward.

However, each morning, I notice that the Location field for these assets automatically reverts back to "District" instead of retaining the updated school and room details. This has occurred consistently across multiple assets in the group, as shown in the screenshot attached.

Can you please help me understand why these changes are not persisting overnight? Is there an automated process or sync that might be overwriting the values?

Hi ​@CCassidy 8005211 rtnj Great question! It looks like Intune is making the change on these devices. For example: Asset Tag 20210006

 

If you pull this Asset up and look at the timeline, it states that Intune is updating the location. .

 

What we could do to stop this from happening is go to Apps → Manage → Data Mapping Tab → Scroll down to where you see ‘Location’ under Asset Mapping and uncheck this.

 

 

This basically means we will no longer update asset locations from Intune.
