Hi everyone. New to the community, been using IIQ for a little over a year now and loving it until now. My customer success manager asked me to submit my question here to get y’alls opinion so here we go.

We’ve run into a hitch though with our SIS integration. We just upgraded from Skyward SMS 2.0 to Skyward Qmlativ. Skyward is requiring vendors to be a partner which IIQ does not seem to want to be a part of so they’re not an official integration partner to use the API. However, we have the ability to send CSV’s using the OneRoster reports. I followed this guide here:

Installing OneRoster CSV SIS Integration | Community

I got everything setup until it said it needed all the reports in a ZIP file? That seems counter-intuitive and of course Skyward Qmlativ doesn’t have the ability to send reports together in a zip file. So now I’m thinking I have to export to some local SFTP site, create a script to zip these files nightly, then send it out to IIQ? That seems like a lot of work that also opens us up for a potential cyber issue there too.

Thats a long-winded way of asking if anyone else is doing this and how are you doing it?

We are running into this same issue

We ran into this same issue when IIQ made the decision not to become a Skyward partner.

I have on and off been working on trying to get this working correctly since December with no luck. In the Skyward Community someone did upload report templates in the file sharing for the third party integrations for IIQ that I am going to try and see if those work.

@CTaylor 1478a6e goddardusd Thank you for submitting your question to our community! 😄

Thank you @MLocke 773d4ae eacs for sharing your work around, please let us know if this works for you!

@CTaylor 1478a6e goddardusd and @CReinking 58066e5 hse When you access the Skyward Community click "Resources” and then “File Sharing”. Navigate through “Student Management Third Party Files” and then “One Roster”.

There are two SXR files for IIQ. I cannot test them yet as we are in the middle of rollover. But According to the person who uploaded them you will need to upload both outputs of those reports to the SFTP. I guess there are issues with uploading the zip file with the org csv.

@MLocke 773d4ae eacs I appreciate you sharing that, but I’m wary of uploading something that could mess up our data.

@Kathryn Carter I understand IIQ doesn’t want to pay to become a Skyward partner, but it’s really a matter of the IIQ engineers not requiring the Oneroster files to be zipped.

@CReinking 58066e5 hse Here are 3 ideas around Skyward to check out:

As for the engineers, I am not sure what all that information entails or what that looks like on the back end. You are welcome to submit another idea for what you mentioned.

@CReinking 58066e5 hse all you are doing is uploading a report template. The SXR files do not touch any data. It is just a Skyward report template you can import that you can then run in scheduled reports to export data. It can even send it as a zipped file automatically.

Who do I have to talk to about getting IncidentIQ onboard with being a Skyward Partner @Kathryn Carter

There are so many customers that are moving to Qmlativ. API just makes everything easier.

So that worked. The template files that the Skyward Community member posted worked flawlessly. I was shocked. Just upload them into Report Manager, set your scheduled tasks to export to the IIQ hosted SFTP and run the sync.
