I am trying import some tickets from an old system via the API. The only thing I am not able to figure out is setting the created date to the date from old system and not today. The API responses have the created date in the format of YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS as in 2024-12-12T14:30:00 but when I try that format it doesn’t seem to work and sets the date to today. Is there another format or can created date not be anything but today?
I have reached out to our API Masters here at iiQ to see what we can do. In the meantime,
Hey, happy to help whenever I can lol
The creation date cannot be changed to my knowledge. The endpoint does this automatically. You may want to add a custom attribute or something to your ticket to indicate that it was created on x date by the previous system just to tell them apart.
I know when we migrated into iiQ - we actively told people to close what could be closed or recreate what was left in their queue and reference the ticket number from the old system, and to do them in order so we could still sort by creation date.
That said - I only know what I know from trial and error, so please fact check and let me know if anything I say is incorrect. I am always open to learning more.
Good Afternoon
I hope you are doing well so far today! While the createddate value may not be able to be set via the ticket creation endpoint, I wanted to reach out today to provide an alternative solution for your district. I work on the Data Support team with Incident IQ and if your district may have a file containing the information your district would like imported in a csv file, then my team can use an importer tool we have access to in order to get this information imported in bulk into your district’s site. If you may be interested in this, please feel free to send me an email at athaxton@incidentiq.com and I will be more than happy to provide an import template with some examples as to the information we would require. Thank you for reaching out, and I hope you have a great day!
Best Regards,
Drew
