I just had some questions about device assignments. When we assign a user to a device would the nightly syncs cause the device to go back to chrome-enroll? My other question is if a user logs in to another students device does that device now assign ownership to the student that borrowed/used the chromebook?

Hi @MJobson 810f357 ticsd ,

I hope you’re doing great! If you assign a user to a device, the nightly syncs won’t cause the device to go back to chrome-enroll.

If a user logs in to another student’s device, that won’t update the ownership of the device. User’s name would appear on the asset’s profile under the “Usage” section. I’ll attach a screenshot for your reference.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. May you have a great day ahead!

Regards,

Jas

Hey @MJobson 810f357 ticsd,

After taking a look at your Google Devices configuration, I want to follow up on your scenario with chrome-enroll. With your current set up and if the annotated user in Google Admin is set to chrome-enroll, this user will be made the primary user of the asset. This setting can be found in the General Settings tab of Google Devices:

If you update the annotated owner in Google Admin, the system will update with the sync. However, if you want to make owner assignment changes from within iiQ, you’ll want to change this setting to ‘Don’t automatically update asset owner in iiQ” and this will preserve any owner changes you make within iiQ.

I’ll go ahead and provide the Google Devices guide as well in the event that you want any additional clarification on the setting options you have available!
