While we would like to say summer is the lull, we know that’s not true for many of you. This time of year can be one of the busiest as you are going through the devices collected at the end of the year and repairing them, ordering new devices, and preparing for the new year. So have you started your device distribution plan? LocknCharge Towers are a great integration into the iiQ software. Upon learning more about this product, here are some best practices given to us by your peers from their onboarding period. Thanks @arosenbaum_iiQ for helping us gather this feedback.  First, when looking at a LocknCharge Tower, the imported serial numbers are very long and can be filled with multiple numbers and letters. Our first best practice is to change that Asset tag upon import. This allows you to search for that tower easily.

 Are your requestors running out of space when entering details on tickets? The Number of Instances feature on a custom field makes it easy to add information to the issue within the ticket. When creating a field definition, the Number of Instances refers to how many lines are within the field type. In the example below, we created a field definition for Unblock Websites. Requestors often have more than one website to be unblocked. By setting the Number of Instances to 10, the requestor is able to input up to 10 separate websites to be unblocked.

Student Tech Programs are an excellent benefit for both the student and the school district. From the student furthering their interest in technology and getting real-world experience to the district getting additional help with tickets and IT issues, the benefits of starting a student tech program speaks volumes.  There are many options, such as school credits, certifications, sponsorships, paid vs. unpaid, and more. We have spoken with multiple districts, and each student tech program is unique. They can be as complex or as simple as you make them. It just depends on what is best for your district.  

Would you like to see a report with the list of users who have not signed or accepted a policy that you have previously sent out? You can create a custom view using the filters for the Policy Manager app. Easy way to see which users have accepted or declined a policy. In the left side navigation, click Users > New View In the View Designer, name your view and then select Add Filter
