When unassigning a device on the device details page, the device will show as unassigned but when the page is refreshed it will revert back to the previous owner that it was just unassigned from. This will sometimes happen 5+ times before it will stick. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue. It is causing significant delays or if not noticed it has caused errors in our data.

Hey all,All buildings have rooms crafted/labeled in IIQ. At the elementary level, our CB’s are assigned to a room. Teachers are likewise assigned to room through Skyward. I would like to map CB’s in a room and assign them to a teacher automatically.Then, at the start and end of the year, I can craft “Audit Manager” rules that has teachers verify the CB’s in their classroom as part of our accountability process.I thought IIQ could link assets to owners of a room but I don’t know how that happens. Anyone have an idea? 

Without having Edit rights, our users can not assign devices to a room.  We do not want to give them edit rights because they can change the funding source (ECF, ESSER,etc..).  Pull the room location out of the edit rights and let users “assign” devices to a room location within their school

I am making a custom field for devices called Kiosk Mode. The goal is to affect the OU placement of devices in our Google Device sync based on the value of this field. Since I cannot filter by “field not set” the options on the select box are: - None - Kiosk Mode This allows me to edit our Google Device general settings so that if it is set to None they sync to the regular OUs and if it is set to Kiosk Mode the device will move to the Kiosk OUs (by school).But, I need to ensure devices being created have a default value of “None”. Apparently an Asset on Create rule can’t set custom fields.So, without the ability to filter by “not set” and without the ability to automatically set a custom field’s default value (either via a default value feature which doesn’t seem to exist or via a rule which doesn’t seem to exist) I’m dead in the water on this little change.I could set the filter on each OU placement rule to EXCLUDE Kiosk Mode… but if

We just changed up how we are running device handouts in our district for 5-12 graders, they will be getting their devices checked out to them for 4 years with no check-ins during that time, we are relying on audits to keep them in line. What we need to know is if there is a way for the device to follow the student based on the students location data? We have kids that transfer schools mid-year or the usual route of going from middle school to high school and we need these devices to automatically change their location when the students location changes. I’ve looked through several articles but I was unable to find any specific documentation or process on this.

We are trying to set up a system where there is basically like a spare pool that would be located in the school office. The secretary would use that pool of assets (chromebooks) to assign out to students via the checkout feature. That new asset would then be assigned to them and the secretary would take in the broken device and check it in, not into the pool but then they put in a ticket.  What we would like is something where we can easily view what devices and how many are left in the spare storage area not yet assigned, and if possible, set up a rule or something to either open a ticket or send an email notification once the number of chromebooks available in that location gets to a certain threshold. We are set on the check-in/out segment but are lacking the experience with the system to set up a digital segment of assets for us in the IT office to be able to know when they need more.   On a side note, we would also be looking to use thi

We have the Jamf integration enabled in iiQ which is nice because once a day each asset is updated with the latest information Jamf provides (last time the device checked in, it's IP address at the time, etc.)Is there a way to isolate that information via custom views under assets?  

Can a staff role have the ability to view “Asset Explorer” with a custom policy that will allow them to view thier own location assets. This will be for a site Library media tech. Dont want to give them Agent access to avoid them from interacting with techs working on tickets.

We have assigned rooms for our users such as staff. We also have rooms for our assets such as a LCD panel.How can I automatically assign the owner of the asset based on who is assigned to the room from the user.  User details: Assigned room   Device details: Room and owner  ThanksRon

Got a quick question, we are doing a huge inventory data move and have checked in the devices to one site location. However, we want to move all scanned devices into our tech storage pool. The manual way would be to scan the device into the pool by the add asset function. That is great for small batches but we are looking at around 3k devices still left. Is there a way to use a csv template for a big device move?

Do users still have to have the agent role to use the basic check-in and out feature or is there an update?

Is there a way to bulk change Asset Type and have them update in the asset’s details? We can currently change an asset model’s Asset Type, but when we go to an asset of that model, it will continue to show the original Asset Type until you edit and save that specific asset... then it will show the new Asset Type.We’ve tried mass ‘set info’ to force an asset update, but the details still show the old Asset Type afterwards.It looks like our options are to edit/save each asset individually, or delete each asset and reimport them in.Is this a bug that can be fixed, or something that can be added?

I have a Chromecart with about 34 (linked) chromebooks. How can I move (edit location) of that CB cart to another location (room) and have all the linked assets move with it? I can move the cart, but the linked assets (cb’s) don't move with it….?! Thanks

Hello, Is there a feature in IQ where it automatically assigns a device to a user? For example lets say I have a new staff complete & sign an acceptable use policy form and then that assigns their device to IQ as an owner. 

When verifying devices from the desktop site we can choose to unassign them which is handy as it makes sure we did actually turn in the device properly. However, when using the mobile app, it wants you to set the assigned person and doesn’t appear to let you unassign it.Am I doing something wrong? Can the mobile app verification process not ensure it is unassigned?If that is correct, would this be an idea request or a bug?

We would like our computer techs to add computer models and other devices to out IIQ system. How would we add this option.

I have added a new field to indicate that an asset should not be replaced when it reaches end of life. It is called “Do Not Replace” The field is identical other than name to a field which indicates whether an asset is assigned to a student or not. Both are yes/no fields. Both are assigned to assets in Ticketing.Both fields appear on the edit screen for assets correctly. Both fields can be filtered on. However, when I search for the Do Not Replace field either because I am using Set Info to change multiple assets because I want to add it as a column, it is not found. The Student Machine field appears in all cases.For the life of me I cannot figure out what I did with the Student Machine field that is different from the Do Not Replace field to cause the differing behavior. Any advice would be appreciated. I would like to create an export that shows the Asset tag and the date it was created and who created it.  I see where I can filter by created date but I don’t see how to include created date as a column in the export.  Is that even possible?

What is the difference between the “START FULLY SYNC” and the “PUSH DATA” buttons under Google devices? 

Hello,I’m new to the software, we currently just have the Asset module and I’ve been working on getting things setup. I know there was a discussion about how others setup cart environments but I wanted to follow up a little and ask a new off topic question.Currently I’m trying the “create a room” named my mobile cart and adding the Chromebooks, linking them to the physical cart which we have in the system as well.It looks great showing the list of 36 devices but we have them numbered and I was wondering if there is an easy way to look in a list view that can show a device name or custom field?I tried putting the device # under the Room which was called ‘specific location’ I’m not able to see that on my searches, to see which number each device is, I need to click on one and go into the device details.Reason this is needed is for our library that checks out our loaner computers, they are numbered and when one is not returned we disable them.

Hey, if I use the temple csv file and import it in, will incidentiq generate barcodes or it won’t because I am uploading the csv file.

We’re looking for a way to export our list of spares from our Spare Pools. I was initially thinking to just filter down all the assets using the “Spare Pool” filter, but it doesn’t look like that filter exists any more? I know I’ve seen it in the past and there is another post that involves this filter. Is this a bug? Or is there another way to filter down assets to get stuff from the Spare Pools? The reports in the Spare Pools aren’t exactly what I’m looking for either.

When I assign a device, I want to write to the Notes field of the device, “Assigned on (date)”.  Is there a way to insert today’s date in that field, maybe with inserting tags of some sort? Thank you!

I’m having an issue when using the iiQ Mobile App to scan device barcodes. I am using an iPhone 14 Pro, currently on iOS version 16.5. The iiQ Mobile App is on version 3.8.7.23052401. I’ve noticed that when I try to scan an asset, initially the focus is very blurry. However, if I move the device camera further away, the focus becomes more clear. I don’t have any issues with my camera outside of the iiQ app. Two of my coworkers using an iPhone 13 Pro do not have this same issue. Thoughts? Has anyone else had this issue?
