Assets

I scan my assets into a list and I click the bulk options and verify the entire list all at one time, but it is marking all the assets as “Failed” even though I am selecting “Verified/Correct.” Is anyone else having this problem? It just started happening in the last few weeks. 

so I’m trying to run an audit at one of our campuses and normally we can bulk scan using the rapid scan feature and verify the assets and update them that way. but now even though I select verify the system fails the item 

We’ve noticed that the IIQ mobile App only seems to show the scan barcode via camera in the check in/out section, and not in the search asset section. This is on iPadOS 15 and Android 13 that I have observed. Is this an issue, or was there a change in the availability of the barcode scanner functionality?

Hello,I am using the Import Assets feature to update asset information. When I upload the spreadsheet one column is not uploading properly. It is reading it as  M/d/yyyy h:mm rather than the information that is in the column. I have had this happen several times so I am wondering what I can do to fix this problem. I have changed the format, re-uploaded, created complete new sheets to upload. Sometimes it fixes the problem and other times not. Do you have any suggestions?Thanks,Janell

I’m wondering if there is a way to filter assets based on how many currently open tickets they have?  I would like to see any assets with more than 1 open ticket so I can combine them when needed.  

Is there a way to remove the Verification date on an Asset?

Hello all,I’ve been trying to get our JAMF integration setup so that we can have the benefit of assigned devices but are having problems with “unassigning” them.At first we thought we could remove the username within JAMF and the devices would drop from their assigned users - especially as we have ticked the option within general settings to:Unassign owner if primary user is blank:Remove existing owner in iiQ for assets that have an empty primary user in jamfThis works for iPads but doesn’t work for MacBooks.  According to an email from support, the JAMF location:email_address field needs to be blank as well to unassign the asset.Since it’d be easier to make all the changes in IIQ to remove the user from the device and have that push to JAMF, we starting testing on how to accomplish this.location:email_address is hardcoded to map to User email one way from JAMF to IIQ.  If indeed we have to wipe that field in order to remove assignm

We’ve been trying to add assets to a spare pool which we’ve successfully done in the past. Now we click “Add Asset”, type in the asset tag number and select the asset at which point the screen appears to reload but the asset is not present in the pool. Is anyone else having issues with this? 

Hello, we are having an issue with syncing from Incident iiQ to Google Admin. If we move a Chromebook cart into a testing bucket in Google Admin. The following day Incident iiQ somehow will move Cart back to the original bucket in Google Admin. We needed to turn off Sync in Incident iiQ. Even if we move cart out of the room number in Incident iiQ it will revert back to the original bucket in Google. This will cause an issue when students will be testing and need to move Chromebooks to testing.

Is there a way to force an automatic audit verification cycle? My issue is that there are times when I’m asked to pull a report & everything is listed as “Pending”. I can’t really pull the most recent status pre-Pending. Can I?

It looks like assets assigned to users aren’t showing up in the user’s profile page.  I noticed this today (Monday, 09/16/2024), however some of my staff told me they noticed it last week with a few people.

We have iPads that were inadvertently imported twice as assets. We have deleted one of the listings but the deleted asset is restored because the iPad is tied to Jamf. Is there a way to permanently delete a duplicate asset to eliminate this problem.  

So this is a bit Tricky.  I currently have rules setup in IIQ to Enable a device in Google if the status is set to In-Service or In-Storage, and to Disable a device if set to Lost, Stole, or Missing. I also need IIQ device status set to Missing when a device is set to disabled (button pressed), and to “In Service” if the Re-Enable Device button is pressed. I set up the rule “When Updated” When “Google Status = Disabled” set Status to “Missing”When I press “Disable Device”, it stays “In Service”.  From this point, if I press “Enable Device” the device re-enables but then the IIQ Status goes to Missing.  It’s almost as if it’s doing this reverse and I’m unsure of how to set this without messing stuff up. I’m disabling all other rules before hand to make sure that nothing else is triggering this.  Any Help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a way in the rules engine to add data to a custom field (assets) on device update/checkout? I did not see anything in the rules engine. We are trying to add a checkout date to a custom field so we can sort/report on it.

When new models show up from our asset management systems, is there any way to be notified?  The devices won’t flow into IIQ until they have been mapped.  Is there any way to get some kind of heads up that a new model has appeared and is not yet mapped?  We sometimes forget and don’t realize until we start getting calls that a search does not find their new device.  Thanks!

Currently when searching for an asset the options are Room, Asset ID, or Serial.This is great, if you have the item in front of you and can easily get to it’s asset tag or serial. However, if I’m looking up a switch, or Access Point, or a drone, or group of large external HDDs or some other device we’ve added, there’s no easy option for if I want to just type the word switch and look for a specific switch or our media lab bought a drone. I need info off of it or to add info to it. If I could type switch, or drone or whatever, then I could more easily get to the info especially if I don’t know what room it may have been assigned.

Good morning - Here’s some context: When you pull up the ‘assets’ tab, then click on ‘filter’ so you can filter the assets you’re looking up, it automatically pops up to a ‘recommended filters’ page. Is there a way to edit which filters are recommended for our organization? Many of these are not ones we filter by often, and there are some we use much more often, and would just be super handy to be able to have the ones we use often listed first instead of ones we don’t use.Thanks all!

Is it possbile to set an auto print from batch check out one the student field and device field is filled out?

I have created a special user group for my organization for Asset Managers.  When using the website the users in the group have access to look at asset details, check in/out, view tickets and audit history, etc.  When one of those users logs into the IIQ mobile app (android, don’t have an Iphone to test) and scans an asset the only option available is to submit a ticket.  I would like for the users to have the same permissions for the mobile app as the website, does anyone have a fix for this?  I’m not sure if maybe it’s just something simple I’m missing.  

I feel like this might be a stupid question, but what approach do people take to adding new models so that they can be properly imported into iiQ and mapped to owners, etc.?I’ve run into the issue where we are trying to better fill out our inventory of devices where we are using Mosyle (Apple MDM). Devices get pulled in there, but then since its a model we haven’t been using I have to go in, create and add the model to the iiQ library, go back to the Mosyle Manager app and map it, then re-run the import to have the asset properly matched. This isn’t the end of the world, but I feel like this could be done more automagically?I understand with models there are literally millions of different ones, but with Apple at least they tend to have a fairly constrained lineup all things considered for mapping assets across platforms. Just wondering what’s the best way to tackle this going forward.

Is there a way to bulk restore devices?I performed an upload from a file that had different model names in it with the same asset tag and it created new devices with the same Asset tag and deleted the original devices.  I can search on a deleted device and see a ticket for that device.  I can click on the device in the ticket and there is an option to restore.

Attempting to create a rule that pulls devices in a spare pool that are assigned to a user, but it appears to be picking up assets that are unassigned.I have the filters as follows  When I enable the rule it tells me it will effect 16 assets, however all of the assets in the spare pool are currently unassigned. Is there a way to tell what 16 assets it is picking up?

Is there an option to prevent checkout of Assets to Guardians or User roles?    We have many Staff that are employees and Guardians and when doing checkout, we mistakenly assign ownership to the Guardian account instead of the Staff account.  We can resolve and have a view, but it would be nice to not make the mistake in the first place.  I looked in Policy or Permissions, but not finding a setting.  Thanks

We do not have ours barcoded or in IIQ, but we do charge a fee when it is not returned. So, when a student returns a device without the charger, check-in/out agents have to manually apply the fee (from the check-in screen) but then have to manually remove it from the user if it is returned.Is there a better way? I would love to hear other ideas and processes.
