Hey all! I’m trying to find how I can add a required field when adding new assets. I want there to be a field for IP Address and MAC address when creating a new asset (like a server). I have IP and MAC as fields but they don’t show up to select when I go to Required Fields. Any help is much appreciated! 

Is there a method to verify Jamf devices?  Like Google and Intune?  

My agents would like to have a field added to the display above to show if the chromebook is active or disabled so agents don’t need to get that information from the asset details page. 

This may be a dumb question, but is there a relationship between linked assests?In our old system there was a parent/child relationship between assets. So if I wanted to link an asset I had to go to the child component and select the parent asset it belonged to.However, asset linking in iiQ appears to be just that… a link. It seems as though, in iiQ, it wouldn’t matter if, for example, you were viewing the switch module and clicked on Link Asset and then chose switch chasis or if you were looking at the switch chasis and clicked on Link Asset and then chose the module. Am I understanding this correctly?

I incorrectly set up a filter for my assets and would like to eliminate that view from the left side of my screen.  I also need to rename a view that I set up correctly, but did not give it a title.Thanks. 

So we have students that have a tendancy to take their Chromebook with them when the leave the district. We usually disable their accounts, but the Chromebook is still active. I’ve poked around in the rules and I can’t quite find what I am looking for.What I’d like to see is a way for iIQ to look at the student’s role. In this case, no access. Then I’d like to see it run a rule that looks for any Chromebooks that are assigned to them and then disable them via a rule. I’ve seen a few that are close to what I need, but doesn’t do what I want it to do. 

I like to create asset groups so I can have a quick look on how many devices I have and where they are. I just did another group and I know I have 88 devices, but only 2 shows up. I don’t know how to fix this so I can see all 88 devices? thanks, cheryl 

Hello,We prefer to use pre-printed asset tag labels, rather than printing tags from IIQ as needed.   Unfortunately our previous source of these labels is no longer an option, and we’re in need of a large quantity of labels for a Chromebook refresh.Do any other districts purchase rolls of pre-printed labels with a tag number and barcode that would be willing to share their source?   We’re looking for alternative options that would work well for scanning new assets into IIQ.Thank you!

Is there a way to run a rule if a text field such as the Google Apps annotated location field is blank? I didn’t see anything but maybe I am missing something?

I use a custom EOL (End of Life) field to track our replacement cycle. I have realized that I need to use a generic date such as 6/30/2024 so users do not put in tickets to have a device replaced the date is is listed as expiring (we used the purchase date + the number of lifecycle months to calculate the EOL). As devices break and are replaced and put back into service, I need to document the original owner of a device class so I can slate them for a replacement device. A report would be nice, any other ideas?

The built-in asset tag format works fine for physically larger devices (monitors, laptops, printers, etc.). However, I have come up against a number of devices where having the asset tag really improves our life, but the device itself is small.For example: the remotes that go with our hybrid classroom cameras. The asset tag lets us easily see which remote is paired with which camera. (And re-pairing them is a pain in the tuchus.) But… the standard size asset tag is just too big for the remote. Last spring I had an arts-and-crafts afternoon, having printed out 75% scale labels and then cutting them down.I have a handful of AV equipment that similarly lacks a large enough surface for a standard tag.Anyone have a good trick for printing _readable_, smaller asset tags? An approach for adding a second asset tag format to IIQ to print as an alternate in this situation?

As we have been working through importing our assets, when we get to choosing the model category, we are noticing that categories are showing up even though they are not available. We are not using a bunch of the categories and they are not turned on for either ticketing or facilities, yet it is still showing up as an option on the imports. Has anyone found a way to hide these so end users cannot choose them? An example is the Appliances from the IIQ catalog, there is a red x for both ticketing and facilities, yet when they do an import, they show as an option when doing a mapping.  This is causing things to be put in the wrong category.  

Good morning, I am a new System Administrator to a district that uses IncidentIQ.  I have been tasked with finding a way to automate our asset location changes.  Our current system involves the following:Tech moves a device from Site A to Site B Tech fills out a Google form that documents the move from A to B Finance gets the form and then makes the change on their endWe would like to eliminate the middle step of the Techs having to fill out a Google Form.  If possible, we would like to implement some way in tickets of forcing a Tech to answer a question if a device was moved or not.  If the device was moved, it is to be documented some way in IncidentIQ.  I would then like to schedule a report to be ran at the beginning of the month that would send a list of all assets that moved locations that month to the Finance person’s email.Is this possible in some way?  Thanks for your time.

Yes! You can allow users to find and select common model categories based on their role during the ticket submission. From the Model Categories tab, select the categories and then Set Priority. From here you are able to set the visibility based on roles.   

Hello, We have scanners capable of bluetooth, when connected with default settings they only scan partial numbers, if we slow down the transfer rate of the bluetooth signal, it will read the full barcode, however this does not trigger Rapid Scan.Is there a way to manually trigger Rapid Scan? We looked into the Scanner setting in IIQ, however do not understand what those settings are actually adjusting. 

When I send a Chromebook to Dell for repair, they automatically deprovision the device, causing the asset/device to unlink from the iiQ ticket after syncing with our Google Admin Console. Is there a way to prevent assets from unlinking to tickets during repair, regardless of their status in Google Admin? 

We are using SCCM for Windows Asset Integrations and occasionally run across issues where the device is completely gone from SCCM - we verify this by resource id, but we sometimes we see where when the device is renamed, it fails to update the asset with the new name stating that its still in use. Is there some soft of best practices that some have seen that will allow the devices to update. We hesitate on using the delete assets option for fear that it wont merge and just create a duplicate so we wouldn’t be able to check the real history without pulling up more than one device. Any input would be appreciated.

Is anyone else having this problem?  I’ve had a ticket open for some time and they cannot seem to solve it, but our end users are unable to search by asset number from “Search” feature on the dashboard, when they are putting in a ticket, or  when creating a quick ticket for a device.  The only time it works is when they are adding a favorite.  As an Admin, I have never had an issue with this, but when I began preparing a class to teach staff, I came across this issue.  Every user (Not an admin) that I tested, regardless of browser of device type have had this issue. Anyone else?

Not sure if it exists but I’m looking for two things. One is that we have a lot of Chromebooks and siblings from other buildings love to mix up their devices and only after months have passed and a device needs to be serviced do we have to untangle the mess. Also somehow a student has lost their device but somehow this has gone unnoticed for months. Eternal loaners? If this can’t be done I’ll do a feature request.1. I want to be notified (Email/Report) if a user signs into a Chromebook they are not assigned to after X times (Ex. 3 times) Also exclude loaner pools.2. I want to be notified if an assigned device has not had its user sign in after X time (Ex. 2 weeks) Why haven’t you used your Chromebook?

Since the new search was implemented, many of us are finding searching for assets produces 0 results, even though the asset is in there. We have to go to Asset Explorer, and search from there, then we find it. Also, this issue is very intermittent. One asset several of us couldn’t find yesterday works today. Is anyone else having this issue?

I saw the webinar that mentioned 2D Asset Mapping, I’ve looked into it because it would be amazing for asset tracking, however it says it’s only available for facilities, I  need 2D Asset Mapping for our technology assets, how/when can we get this

In Google Console, I have Location set to School and Room number.  When the sync runs with IncidentIQ, it does not always put a Location in Incident IQ.  The reason is because some of the locations in Google console are not mapped in IncidentIQ.  When I go to map the location (under Google Devices/Location Mappings/Custom Mapping) - the location name from Google console does not appear in the Dropdown list.  How do I add it?

Hello, we are able to integrate Intune and the Google suite into IQ. When creating a new asset rule, I don’t see a way to create where after a device is checked in due to damage that it also device wipe via Google or Intune.

We are finding that occasionally models get created and assets for that model added. But the models are not assigned to a model category such that they have issues assigned to them. This means when someone starts with that asset and creates a ticket they end up at a dead end because there is no issue in order to move the ticket forward.I suppose this could be solved by not allowing moving forward without assigning issues. Or if there was a way to get to a view that showed models without issues, we could police it ourselves. Or there is something else obvious we are missing.I agree people should not create this situation to begin with, but when someone forgets it won’t resurface until someone attempts to submit a ticket and notifies the IT Department. Open to advice or suggestions.

This is our first summer rolling out ZTE (zero-touch enrollment) devices, which have significantly shortened the amount of time we spend on deploying the devices.When we receive the shipment, they are already listed in our Admin Console with a “pre-provisioned” status. I just noticed that this status is not an option to sync over under the General Settings of the Google Devices Sync.I'm assuming that if we sync over all deprovisioned devices, they will come over, but that may also bring over unwanted retired devices from our past. (This has not been tested)I believe that the pre-provisioned status should fall under the “Active” state in IIQ. I can see the potential for us to assign and physically hand over a device to a student in a pre-provisioned state because all they really need to do is connect it to the WIFI, and it will automatically enroll within seconds. Thoughts?
