I am looking for some ideas for custom asset views. Can you post some of your favorites or some you have found most helpful?Thanks

I am not sure if this idea is a good one but I figured it would be a good discussion. Every time I do a bulk change for multiple assets I only have on dropdown window to choose between all of the different fields we have available to change. My question is, would it be better to have check boxes of all available fields to choose from instead of one dropdown window? In my opinion this would make it far faster to choose the options to change. I look forward to hearing other thoughts on this.Thanks.  

Hello.  I am no longer able to see the Parts in my ribbon on the left.  I noticed that it disappeared shortly after the recent update.  I’ve cleared my history and cache per our tech’s advice.  Still not there and I have admin. rights.  Thank you.

Hello, new to the community and new to iiQ. My question is: we have iPads and Apple Pencils that we give to teachers. The pencil stays in a special cutout in the case so it always travels with the iPad. Is it a good idea to link assets - the iPad and pencil? We do have occasions where we may have to swap out the iPad or pencil for a defect and will linking them cause any problems with that?

Is it possible to assign an asset to a “guest” user in IIQ or does the person I check out a device to have to have a defined user type (e.g.staff, student)?

We added BrainPop as a Model for tickets and issues, and the corresponding KB Articles imported.   We don’t want all the default KB articles visible to anyone, they don’t apply but we can keep some of them.  Is there a way to turn off/on a single imported KB article or should we just remove the BrainPop Model from our catalog and add it back as a custom model?

Our check-our process may be different than others, I don’t know.For various reasons, our students keep the same chromebook year over year.  We have found that the most efficient method of checking out chromebooks each year is to call the students down to the cafeteria by grade level, and then calling them up by name as we come to their chromebook in the stack.  For this to work, we have to know which student the chromebook belongs to before we call the student forward.In years passed, we have placed a physical label with the student’s name on each chromebook and case in order to make this work.  This is very cumbersome, and prone to error.  Because IIQ allows us to check in devices while leaving them assigned to the user, we felt this was an idea solution to our organizational problems at the beginning of the year.The problem we are running into as we try things out is that the Batch Check-Out requires that we scan the Student first, then scan a device t

Hi!I was just wondering how to delete a Spare pool. I created one and it wont show any of the chromebooks I added to the pools, so I tried to delete and re create it, however its saying there's devices still in the pool even though nothing is showing up. Any one else have this happen? 

Does anyone have a creative solution to students pulling off asset tag labels? Would love to hear how districts are handling this pre beginning of the year device rollout. Thank you!

The laptops we have are currently searchable by either serial number or an asset tag we provide.However, on the bottom of the device there is a scannable field for the device serial number that does have the serial but it includes other data as well.Example:Serial number: xxxxxxxxScannable tag: yyyyyyyyyyxxxxxxxx Is there a way to either add a custom searchable field or to do some sort of substring search for serial number?

Is there a way to have the verification date update when using the Check-In/Check-Out option for asset assignment?

I’m currently setting up our district’s chromebook spare pools. I’ve created pools for all 4 of our buildings but for some reason when I attempt to move devices to the pool for our middle school I’m unable to select the pool in question. I’m only able to select an option that says “[Not In Pool]” while for the other buildings I am able to select that option or a pool called Chromebooks.  I don’t see any differences in how the pools are configured. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks, 

I have created an issue called “Printer Home / Personal”.  Our team does not provide support to home printers.  So, I created a rule that, when this issue is selected, it will cancel the ticket and sends a polite email to the Submitted By person that states we do not support home printers.  Here is where the problem, comes in.  The rule will cancel or resolve (I have tried both) the ticket, but it does not send the email.  I have tried to move the rule around to the top, the bottom, etc.  I have tried to re-order the two actions, no joy.  I am wondering if other things need to be set, like ticket owner perhaps, before an email can be sent. Just to recap, the rule is supposed to do 2 actions based on the issue selected:Cancel (or resolve) ticket Send email to Submitted ByIt is only doing the Cancel/Resolve regardless if its the 1st or 2nd Action.If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears!  Thank

What is the easiest and fastest way to checkout multiple assets to a single user?  i.e.  a classroom set of chromebooks to a specific teacher

A student withdrew from the district three months ago and was deactivated through the integration with our SIS. I needed to determine whether the student returned the laptop. The student is no longer in a list of users. I can’t find him using the SIS = inactive filter. We happened to have an external database that is linked to Active Directory, so I was able to look up the serial number and find the device is still assigned to the inactive student in IIQ.. How can I go about running reports or filters to find withdrawn students and whether they still have a device assigned to them solely within IIQ?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to do a bulk update of Google OU settings within a custom view of assets? IE, I have maybe 30 devices that are in the root OU that I want to relocate to a entirely different OU. I could have sworn I did this once before but the edit asset option eludes me.

We are planning on deploying Incident IQ this summer. We are curious if we enable bi-directional syncing between IQ and gAdmin which source would be considered the source of authority. Any insight into this that you can provide would be appreciated. 

Hello, I’m an admin for our school, and I’m trying to create a new model category for some of our equipment but I’m running into an issue. When I am in the Model Categories section and I click on New Category, I am greeted with the new category window, but it states “This category is Read Only. You can only modify the visibility of it.” Due to this, whenever I want to add in a new model category, I had created some new models in the past, and we have not made any drastic changes to the system that I am aware of. I’m wondering if anybody else has ran into this issue and has a solution.

I was going to buy Avery labels, but wasn’t sure if that was supported.

In our facilities department we have several vehicles that the schools can use. With summer coming we were looking to see if incident IQ has the ability for someone to check in /out vehicles and for it to show on the calendar so people know what if available. 

Hi, as the title implies, I created the following rule for Chromebook Devices:Asset rule: Device “Has Open Ticket” > set status to "In Repair"Our technicians love it because it saves tons of daily clicks, and pretty much guarantees device status accuracy. Except I ran into a snag: when a ticket is submitted for a lost Chromebook,  this rule will also apply. I first thought : no problem! I’ll just exclude certain Ticket categories or types from the rule, except there seems to be no such filter option under asset rules? Is this correct or am I not looking hard enough?Thank you in advance!

Now that IIQ allows custom asset statuses, it would be great to be able to choose a custom asset status when checking out a device using batch deployment. Currently, the only option is “In Service” which we don’t use for anything.

I am currently working on the inventory for each classroom.  The teacher for that classroom will receive the inventory for their specific room, check off, and return it to me. To generate the inventory, I currently I go into devices, select the filters, and print out the inventory for each room one at a time.  Is there a way to print out all the device inventory for each room with a page break between each room?

Is there an issue with Assets this morning?  I can’t search for an asset and check in / out isn’t working. 

Should\is there a way to get google managed windows devices to import into assets as the chromebooks do?
