How do I create a subcategory of “not Assigned” so I can double check the accuracy of our inventory at the school level. 

Our district is moving from a cart-based model to a true 1:1 model for elementary students, and we’re working through the logistics of this transition.Right now, our plan is for students to pick up their devices from a homeroom cart each morning and return them at the end of the day. Since we don’t have campus techs, only district techs, we’re considering the best way to manage this process efficiently. How do we quickly and effectiviely check out the devices? For those of you in districts that have already implemented a 1:1 model at the elementary level: Do you check out devices individually to students? When/how are they checked out? Do you check out the devices to the cart and allow the teacher to assign them?  We’d love to hear your experiences and insights!

I am trying to set rules up for Intune devices as we are having issues with location mapping. Our devices are not in any groups which causes Incident IQ to set the default location as unassigned. Even if we go through and manually change the locations, the sync will kick it back to unassigned. Currently I am trying to test a rule where if a device’s location is updated, then the rule will assign the correct location. So I manually updated a device’s location and sure enough the rule worked. However, after a sync, Microsoft Intune “updates” the asset and the rule doesn’t work. I figured that since the location field is being “updated” the rule should work. I even changed the rule to work when the location equals unassigned and still doesn’t work.  Am I missing something here? I appreciate any ideas! 

I have a csv file of Backup UPS devices in my district.  I want to import these devices as assets in Incident IQ, but none of these devices have Asset Tags, so if I import them, the Asset Tag field will be empty.  Can I still import this file and not get any errors?

Our Sync with google shows the Asset Tag as the name of the student, how do we bulk update the owner to equal the assets tag we have over 1,000 devices

I entered about 15 devices in a spare pool. The spare pool tab says I have 2 devices and when i click the tab it shows 15 devices. Any suggestions how to correct this issue with the spare pool?

I would like my team to verify Assets in the field using the phone app, when they physically touch them. This helps to ensure we know with certainty that on such and such date the device was where it was expected.I do not want to force verifications through a ticket because too often, someone has opened a ticket for someone else and the system is not asking to verify the right hardware anyway. Also it would rely on the end user finding the serial number and such.I set up verification policies which seemed great but now each hardware related ticket will not close unless the device in question is “verified”. Is it possible to do what I am hoping to do? Thank you for your help on this otherwise great product!

When attempting a bulk import of over 400 assets, system states that 367 of my entries in the Serial number field are skipped due to “Not a valid GUID”The file is a CSV with various serial number formats, but all fields have an entry.

I want to filter assets based on a custom date field. The specific date option allows me to use “before” as an operator but then I have to pick a specific date. I want it to be “before today”. This option doesn’t seem possible in the “moving date ranges” either. !--a=1-->

If I create a single Asset I can choose to “Generate New Asset Tag” and it will create a random number, which I prefer.  But if I bulk import new assets I can only get it to choose the serial number as the Asset Tag.Is there a way to have it Random generate a Asset Tag that is not the Serial Number during a bulk import?I have searched and can not find anything on this

Hello,I have a custom asset field that is viewable without any issues on the full IIQ website, but when viewing it on the mobile app the field is displayed for the asset but the data for the custom field is blank.The users that are looking at the assets and reported it to me are agents and have the necessary permissions to view the field and its data as they have no issues when logged in on their PCs.To provide details on the field: It is a RichText and contains a clickable link to an external web address for the assets warranty information. The field is updated via bulk upload and is set to https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/[SERIALNUM]/warranty with the actual serial number in place of the [SERIALNUM]. Below is a screenshot of the field’s properties: 

Every time I try to check out a chromebook to a patron it makes me scan the chromebook twice. 

Hi all!I am working on a bunch of stuff in iiQ at my new district. One issue is locations associated with devices.For the Google Devices app, Location Mappings tab we currently have Map by OU enabled, with student OUs set to match their physical buildings.Staff Chromebooks are all in a single OU. With many of our staff traveling between buildings, choosing a single OU was not working. This results in all staff Chromebooks coming through with an “unassigned” location.I’m leaning towards enabling the Map by Owner’s location site option. But, I’m unsure if that means Map by OU will no longer work?Also, many of our elementary Chromebooks are shared devices stored in classrooms, which means they have no owner. Am I correct in thinking these devices would need an owner? In my previous district, we created virtual iiQ users to “own” those devices.

Is there a way to have the payment date show on the invoice that is generated from IncidentIQ?

Is there a way to search for who created an asset in inventory? I would like to be able to check who has created assets at our organization but cannot find a filter or way to export the information other than going into each device and checking the timeline. Thanks!

2 Features desparately NEEDED for Parts inventory to be useful…. (Please correct me if these exist already)Ability to link parts with their associated models (like printer models to their cartridges/fusers) and see that in the Asset view.Ability to grab a part from inventory and apply it to an individual asset so we can count how many consumables an asset uses up. 

Figured a new topic made more sense than burying this in my existing discussion.We have Chromebooks with our students, and they keep their devices as they transition from elementary school to middle school & middle to high.Am I correct in thinking the following setup will work?At some point over summer, our SIS will send the new location info to iiQ (Pretty sure this is on us to “flip the switch”, if you will. I write out a rule to run at least once after this data comes over to assign the device’s location to the student’s location & push the changes to Google Admin I also double-check my Google Device mapping to make sure the OUs are mapped correctly.I thought the “Asset & Owner Location Mismatch” filter might be also be helpful, but nothing changed when I tested using it. Maybe I don’t understand how it’s supposed to work?

Hi,I’m wondering if there is clarification on what the “Is Retired?” field in the Asset Status Details is doing on the system end of things. If “Is Retired?” = Yes, does the system do anything with that information on the back end?  

We are in the process of onboarding to Incident IQ Asset Management and are trying to impliment the most efficient labeling process that works for us. We would like to leverage a QR code that, when scanned, will launch the IIQ App on our phones and bring us directly to the device. Now, I can add the link to the device in IIQ and it launches a web page that brings me to a view of the device but it is not very smooth or seemless. Is this something anyone has done, or am I just way out there in wanting something like this?

With our assets we have:Asset Type Asset Status Model Location Room Specific Location Asset Tag Serial Number and more…I am wanting to export most of those above but for some reason when I go to export, there is no column for Specific Location. Why is that?And looking at most of the Assets, they have the Field.How can I export that column?

Is there a variable data point that tracks the date an asset was checked out? I want to send a reminder email through the Rules Engine to users who haven't returned their loaner device after a specific number of days, including the date it was originally checked out to them.

Has Incident IQ came up with a Mandatory Serial number field yet?  This field would be a blessing if it’s possible.  

I have a bunch of desktops I want to track; I am looking for a way to setup an automatic ticket on a desktop that hasn’t been used in 30 days. I am almost certain it can be done I just think of the process or where to start. I was thinking ticket templates but then thought maybe rules. So, any guidance on this would be great or perhaps a different process all together.Thanks,Jeffrey

Chromebooks are showing way more information in Asset Explorer than Windows devices?  Why is that?  Does something need to be enabled?
