I work for Anoka-Hennepin Schools and am wondering if anyone would be willing to share how your district handles recycling of devices and/or  transferring devices between sites. We have a fairly cumbersome process that we are hoping we can streamline a bit with Incident IQ. We use SCCM, Jamf, Google Admin console and Destiny. We coordinate pickup and transfer of devices as well as movement between OUs/Sites in the management stations. An outline of our process is below.Site TechOpens an iiQ ticket Fills out a Recycle/Transfer spreadsheet (include all devices being recycled or transfered - it includes SN, Destiny barcode, device name, model, type) Links the spreadsheet to ticket Fills out a warehouse transfer form which is attached to the device/s -  This also schedules the warehouse to pick up the devicesDistrict TeamReceives the iiQ ticket Removes or moves the devices in our device management systems (SCCM, Jamf, Google Admin console) - Depending on the request (recycle vs transfer) w

We just started using IIQ and I’ve looked through a decent amount of it thus far, but there’s still plenty to do.One of my quandaries is, what is the difference between a “view” and an asset group? In looking at both of them, they look the same and the only difference is the name. When I open the “view settings” part in both that looks the same as well. What am I missing? Why do both of these exist if they’re the same thing (or so it seems)?

We recently deployed ~800 devices to our staff and are trying to run reports in IIQ to make sure the right device got assigned/signed into. We used FileWave as our MDM and the app sync is working correctly.In IIQ I have created a custom view of the 800 devices we recently deployed. I have the columns selected to show the asset tag number, the owner, and the client device name. The client device name is a app field from the MDM app that gets synced. It is one of the pre-populated app fields when you setup the sync.What happens is that on most of the assets the client device name field shows up correctly in the view. But on a few assets that field is not showing up at all in the view. But if I click on the asset it shows up perfectly fine and says the asset is syncing with the MDM.Curious if there is a trick or something I need to do to get the view to show the updated fields from our MDM sync.Thanks!

I am trying to export detailed room information into a spreadsheet and it will not. I see it on the screen, but when I export it, it only shows the building and not the room.  Attached are what I need and what I get.Any help on how to get the “gondola f” portion of the room information into the spreadsheet would be much much appreciated as I am attempting to look for these assets.

I was looking to see if we had the ability to have a device placed on a watch list for actionable tickets. For example. SN# XXX has a history of 5 or more tickets with same type of issue. Place it on a list to be alerted if it returns with the same issue again within say like 30 days.

Is there a way that devices coming into the depot can be tagged as they are scanned so a report can be generated for a daily report?

I may not have a clear understanding of using variables for emails, so if I’ve got this wrong please let me know!I’m exploring the idea of sending an email notification to specific staff members if a user leaves our district & still has a Chromebook assigned to them. I have the notification set to come to me for now.I received my first notification today, and the asset information was not included, just the variable name(s).  I’m wondering if the email can’t reference the asset info since I’m using a user-based trigger? Do I need to switch to an Asset-based trigger?Here’s the structure of my email:As of {{User.ModifiedDate}} {{User.FullName}} is no longer with the school district. Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find any information on what I am trying to accomplish.  We are a one school school district and we have set up locations for the school and additional location for items we have retired and disposed of just to keep things separate.   I wanted to see if we could give a user rights to only check in/out certain equipment within a location.  It seems that the only way I can see to do this is create a separate location.  To me that adds confusion as the devices are not really in a separate location but rather a sub location.   Here is a scenario I am trying to accomplish.Our special services department purchased some devices that they want to check out to their teachers aides when needed.   If I give the department secretary the permissions to check items in and out she can see all items within a location when I only want her to see what items she needs to manage.A similar situation would be in our Art Department where the teacher would w

I have already submitted a ticket for this, but wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this.  I went to change a location today and when I did, several of our data fields automatically disappeared.  This triggered me to look at other devices recently updated (like within the last 2 weeks) and it is all of them.  Data is disappearing from our asset page when we update location.  I did not test to see if updating any other field caused the same result.  Anyone else noticing this, or maybe needs to notice this so your data doesnt get lost.   

We are syncing assets with Mosyle and FileWave. We have set a default location for new items to be in "provisioned" location.  However we have many things that stay in that provisioned location even when we move them to a different location. I will move the tags during the day to a specific school location but that night it syncs with Mosyle or FileWave changes it back to provisioned.  There is not a specific user assigned to these devices as they are Computer labs or shared use iPads and a few other things.  Can you help me figure out how to have these items come over from Mosyle and FileWave but then have them stay in the location we move them to even if there is not a user assigned to that particular device/item?  For Mosyle we have set automatically update owner in IIQ based on user id in Mosyle and we haveFor Filewave we have checked the box to map by Owner’s location (Assign asset to location in IIQ based on owners location and map by location name checked.  We have custom mappin

How do you adjust the current price of parts in Inventory ? I set up inventory and had to use best guess on a few items but finally got the exact pricing. Do i need to delete and start over or is there a way to adjust just the price ?

Historically we have stored student laptops in a locked room over the summer in stacks of 10.  With the ability to assign an asset to a storage container and a slot we would like to give that a try this summer.  For those that are doing this what storage containers are you using?  How well are they holding up year to year?

Is there anyway to have a device move to the homeroom of the student it is assigned to? Trying to avoid having our techs manually move everything into the kids classrooms

Is there a way through the asset importer, or another method, to mass link assets?We have 900 iPads that each have their own case that we want to link to each other. So it would be a 1:1 link for each iPad.

Is it possible to add a “Set device status in Google” rule action to an On Schedule triggered asset rule? I’m not seeing it as an option. It only gives the option to change the asset status.I’m looking at creating a rule that automatically disables our unreturned loaner Chromebooks at a certain time after school lets out. I was hoping that a Google status rule action would exist in the on schedule triggered rules just as it does for all the other trigger types. 

We’re thinking through how me might use IIQ to track licenses that are assigned to assets. We could create an asset model that represents the software and specific assets that represent individual licenses, then assign to a user if appropriate but not sure about assigning to a device. I see an feature suggestion around this but short of specific functionality being added in the future, has anyone handled this in IIQ using existing functionality?

We have several different types of devices (keyboards, Docking Stations, monitors) that don’t cost enough to assign Asset Tags and some items don’t even have Serial Numbers, but we want to track how many we have on hand and where they went.  I thought about using Parts, but haven’t found where I’d be able to assign them without a ticket and we don’t want to create a ticket for each Docking Station we send out (especially on our initial distribution).Is there a way this can be done in IIQ that I’ve missed?

We have all of our projectors except one model in a model category called Projectors. The one exception is in a category called Overhead Projectors. How can I change the category for the exception model so that it is in the category called Projectors?

I have written a small program that does some things for me. I use this (for example) as a way to query an asset by its serial number: {  "Filters":[    {"Facet": "AssetSerialNumber","Value": "value"}  ]} That works great. But I now want to search using the Notes field. I’ve tried Facet being Notes and AssetNotes but neither work. I’d like to know how to search based on the value in the Notes field.  Also, it’d be nice to know if there is a find all AssetSerialNumbers starting (or ending) with a value. That’d be super helpful too but is not required.

I would like to pre-create storage units for future use without having to add assets right away. Or copy and edit existing storage units to retain the information I want and change what I need to. 

I submitted this feature request a while back, with the intent of hiding “secret” fields:  However, I realized I also want the opposite. Today, I have custom fields for Assets that mark whether the asset is a loaner, or a classroom spare. It’s a simple Y/N toggle. With Permissions v2, I have a subset of Faculty / Teachers who can view assets at their site. They are not Agents. Here’s their permissionsThe custom fields I’m looking for are configured for Assets as such: While these folks CAN view assets, they CAN”T view the “Meta Information” section. As an IIQ Admin, I can. Does anyone know what v2 permission I need to grant to allow non-Agents to view Custom Field metadata on the Asset? Granting Agent access is not an option; I don’t want them to see or work tickets.

Is there an option in iiQ that would allow users to schedule to sign out assets? We have a computer cart that teachers can sign out to use for their class periods. It would be good to have them do it in iIQ since they are already in here for tickets but I don’t know that the functionality exists.

We have a category called “Chromebooks” and when I go in and update an issue to categories, I select from the dropdown Update category and overwrite models to match category. It seems to have updated one of the models within the Chromebook category but not the other models. Any suggestions

We have duplicate assets that have been imported with the same serial number, but the asset tag number is different. How can we stop this from happening? Besides the obvious of letting 30 other techs know not to do this, I would like a solution that states this is a duplicate asset and to not create. See photo for example.
